Pictures you see online are old. Filthy tub and shower, stained and dirty carpet. We had 3 rooms. All had backed up tub drains and mildew with shower heads that were clogged. Not pleasant.
No complimentary breakfast & no ice machine, no coin operated laundry or workout facility on site, but there is a YMCA down the road if you have a membership, and Keith who checked us on suggested I go to the gas station down the road and buy a bag of ice.
Positives: the room was fairly clean, except for the bathtub, the bed was comfortable and bed linens and towels were very clean and plush. There was a nice refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Lots of TV channels available, and there was a swimming pool across from the car park that was large, 9 feet at the deep end, and the water looked clear and clean. We would’ve swam, but it was just about to start raining with possible lightening.
There is a restaurant next door that serves breakfast all day and also lunch, but it closes at 2pm. We didn’t eat there.
Location
No ice machine in the building.
The location was perfect for our daily itinerary.
I am concerned about the lack of lighting along the driveway at night! I can visualize someone mis judging and sliding down that hill to that vacant restaurant!!! Please add dome solar lighting!!! Also , the door to the building needs secure lock system.
Convenient location
The light over the bed was not working. They did not have an ice machine.
Weird hotel/motel where you checked in at one location and then had to drive down the road to another building where your room was. Room was in a building behind a closed-down restaurant and felt a little sketchy. The guy at the check-in desk was hard to understand when he gave directions. People regularly left the main door propped open. I appreciate that dog-friendly hotels are needed (and I have a dog myself), but the whole place smelled of wet dogs or maybe wet socks? Anyway, not great. Room was reasonably clean, but dust and cobwebs in bathroom corners as if it wasn't getting a really deep clean ever. There is a Keurig for coffee, but there was only one packet of creamer and two of sugar (and it's a drive back to the check-in building where the brewed coffee is). Paint and carpeting in the room and hallways was tired. It was also a bit of a drive into Freeport. I get that this is a popular summertime destination, but for nearly $300/night this was a very poor value. I won't stay again.
Not much.
There was nothing about our stay at this facility that we liked. The toilet broke in the middle of the night but I was able to fix it. The sink in the bathroom had no stopper and the hot and cold were reversed. And there was a toothpaste cap down in the drain. The ice machine was inoperable. The beds rolled away from the wall when I tried to read sitting with my back against the wall. The room was uncomfortable and not very clean. Will never Stay at another Best Western again.
I was told a scenic view and there was none . The rooms had cob webs in all the corners and it was over priced. Now I’ve anywhere on the property . There was 4 little pillows on the bed and a left over hair clip from some person before us. I will not be ever staying there again
Cleaner room, actual depiction of the rooms instead of lies to get me to stay there . Ice machine . The property is obviously under construction I get it but staff looked in happy and didn’t have a good vibe
Incredibly dirty. We checked in at 8pm and my young child was ready for bedtime. The bathroom was filthy, used washcloths still in bathroom from the past guest, floor was covered in dark grime that stained the bottom of our socks, ring in bathtub. Bed appeared to be freshly made at least and since our child was so tired, we resolved to treat the bathroom like a public restroom, since we were so far from the front desk. (In the "inn" that you have to drive from the front desk to get to)
There was a hole in the wall instead of an outlet to plug your phone chargers.
Once our child was asleep, we realized the deadbolt was broken and there was no way for a guest in the room to secure the door. An all-glass front door is also unusually insecure for a hotel. We moved an armchair in front of the door, but security and cleanliness were inexcusable for any hotel, especially a national branded hotel.
We are experienced travelers, have had many questionable stays over the years, but this is the dirtiest bathroom I have ever encountered. In the morning, when I asked for a hairdryer (missing from room, as was ironing board) the front desk said "Oh, you're in the 'new' building."
The grime on the bathroom floor was comparable to an abandoned building and I do think that this building was likely unoccupied for some time. This should be investigated by the Best Western brand, because the "inn" is not up to standards.
Clean, quiet, renovated rooms. Great location for visiting Portland or Freeport.
Grounds weren’t easy to walk around, like getting to pool. It looks like some renovating of the landscaping is being done, so I assume that’s temporary. No breakfast offered on site.
Location, outdoor pool and quiet room
Quiet room
Location was great
We had issues with our keys being given to someone else, so when we entered our room someone was already there!!
The bed was comfortable and it was clean
Poor wifi, could not use my ipad or connect my phone and when I did there was no data flow.
There was none.
Getting up to the hotel was ridiculous, and getting down, one car width on a STEEP incline with a deep valley on the side (no guardline)!
Location was alright
Place was very dirty, bad WiFi and totally bad response to the problems. Said maybe the weather was affecting the WiFi. Was in good weather and no storms.
Rooms are very clean.
Finding the parking at this place is hard at night. There are no lights in the street or surrounding areas at night to guide towards the parking lot. Fire alarm went off at 1 am in the morning and everyone had to evacuate the building. It was very difficult with kids under 10. No elevators or trolley to bring the luggage, have to carry it in hands.
Rooms were clean and staff was nice.
It was ok.sta
