Pros:

The lodging was roomy - plenty of space. The location was walking distance to the beautiful coastline. The staff was very responsive and quick. Shower water pressure was good.

Cons:

The back sliding door was wide open when we arrived. Trash can in room not emptied. Spider webs visible in corners. Toilet didn't flush. Room badly in need of remodeling.

Great value!
Pros:

It was fantastic for our family of 5. We really liked that the shower, toilet, and sink were all separate. The furniture was dated but clean and functional.

Cons:

The ice machines weren't working. Parking was difficult one night during a party on the grounds.

Our time at the gorgeous beach made up for the disappointment of the room.
Pros:

Location is everything. Walking to the beautiful beach is what made our experience worth it.

Cons:

The room we stayed in needs a complete renovation. It felt old and musty, and there were cobwebs in every corner. We tried not to touch too much.

Our family stayed for only one nite. We stayed in Woodside & our upstairs neighbors bedroom
Overlooked beautiful moss-covered trees. The balcony had a table & chairs. A short walk to the main area. The beach was gorgeous. Nice weather.

Cons:

The price is a bit high. It was a busy weekend w/ weddings so maybe prices are higher due to summer. There was some litter outside the building.
The cafe could’ve used a second person in the
Morning as one person was not enough which caused a long waiting time.

Always a pleasure.
Pros:

Location, stayed hundreds of days over the past 15 years. “Home away from home”. Not “posh”, but comfortable.

Cons:

Many rooms are updated, some need TLC, especially those on the east side of Asilomar Ave.

Rustic beach retreat
Pros:

This hotel is located on a beautiful state beach property that is steps away from the water. The hotel itself is very rustic but I found it so charming. My family loved lighting the fireplace at night and the beds were comfortable. We loved keeping the sliding door open and listening to the waves at night. We would absolutely stay again to enjoy the magic and uniqueness of the property.

Cons:

My only complaint is that the room was a tad unclean and the carpets need to be replaced soon.

Asilomar was truly like heaven on earth!
Pros:

Asilomar was like a dream! I actually cried happy tears when I walked into our room. The room was so beautifully designed and the ocean view from Spindrift South is incredible. We loved being able to walk to the lodge to sit by the fire place, Pheobe’s cafe, listen to live music, and of course walk to the beach. The campus is so beautiful, the architecture and the landscaping is so well crafted & maintained. We loved hearing the birds sing and the seeing deer munching on plants in the dunes.

Cons:

I asked the girl at the front desk to have housekeeping clean our room, I put the request in around 7 am. Our room was never cleaned despite seeing housekeeping around our room several times that day. We really needed our trash cans changed and new towels.
