Good location with a decent size car park, good hot water, solid plentiful bedroom furniture
No way to control room temperature, shower constantly dripped, loudly. TV remote couldn’t turn it on or off, and wall bracket meant it pointed down or was angled left. Sheet wasn’t big enough so was pulled out and tangled every morning. Despite being after check in time I was given my key i found the room hadn’t been cleaned from previous occupants. The whole hotel is very tired and in need of refurbishments. Breakfast is served from 8am, as I had work commitments meaning I had to go before then I didn’t get a breakfast during my whole stay, 8am is too late to offer breakfast. My room (No. 29) was up a winding corridor at the back of the hotel, very near the car park but it meant a double length walk to get out. A separate entrance for guests from the car park would help save 10 minutes. Sound carried very clearly between rooms.
Very good. Nothing to complain. Comfortable and cozy and silent.
No staff past a certain hour and early morning.
Location
Very tired in places, room not cleaned well, decor not good
Wow, what a gem nestling in Chipping Norton.
Very close to Clarkson country.
We were greeted by the welcoming owner Linda.
We went to our room and surprised to see we had a 4 poster bed!
The room was large with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a big free standing bath. Everywhere was clean and tidy. We had food in the bar, which was very reasonably priced. Our server was Jahmil who was very helpful and friendly, and we had a lovely conversation with him. This morning, we had a very sumptuous continental breakfast. Our server was Samia, who is a lovely friendly lady.
There is parking at this hotel.
WE WILL BE BACK!!
Nothing
We visited a lovely hotel 25years ago and it hasn't changed for the better. Pool still full of dirty water.
Not a very warm welcome or cosy feel to the room. It didn't feel very clean.
Position and car parking
Mattresses rather hard.
Well located on the main street in Chipping Norton. Its about 3km from Clarksons Farm. Rooms were clean if a little grubby due to lack of maintenance. Off street parking was handy for our motorcycles.
No breakfast available at the property. Rooms were clean but tired. Carpets in the hall and landing were threadbare. The hotel could do with a makeover.
Easy check in service with very helpful staff (Sam)
Room was very comfortable as so was the bed.
Parking for guests is behind the back reception garden .
The bathroom has a satisfactory shower clean and hygienic.
TV was surprisingly good with various iPlayer options.
The bathroom needed a bin and soap.
Main bed area needed a side table.
Excellent location and very friendly staff but unfortunately the cleanliness was a big let-down. Generally, would be a perfect hotel if only the standard of cleanliness could be improved.
Despite the excellent location and friendly staff, the cleanliness of our room left a lot to be desired. I do not normally write such reviews but the lack of cleanliness was a big disappointment as we did not expect this at all having paid over £500 for four nights (we were in Room 23). It would have been better for us to stay in PremierInn up the road. Perhaps the cleaner employed for this room needs to be-retrained as it seems only superficial cleaning is performed. The carpet was very dirty (needs a full shampoo), tables dusty, mattress very hard. The bathtub, toilet and sink were clean, but the rest of the bathroom has clearly not been cleaned for quite some time. The floor was exceedingly dirty, actually making the white towels marked when we wiped some water off the floor. The walls were clearly very dusty and marked, same for the door. The shower curtain was stiff from dirt and mouldy (needs to be replaced). Curtain rail heavily corroded with curtain hoops which did not fit around. The bathroom blind needs to be completely replaced as it is mouldy and smells, very dirty. The room needs a complete deep-clean for the next guests.
Location is good
Room a bit shabby, needs updating, bed uncomfortable, more like a 2/3 star hotel so price was high
Good location, parking included. The history of the hotel is interesting. The older lady on reception is very nice.
The noise! Our room was directly above an outdoor patio area and we had a very noisy group so we couldn’t get to sleep until the early hours of the morning. The property also has a LOT of stairs to carry suitcases up. And the decor is very dated
Location
Room was cold. Had to ask for heat to be put on. Corridors cold also.
Had to ask for fresh towels on 2nd night and more milk for room. Room was made up on 2nd day but no effort was put into this.
Bar ran out of the brand of beer we were drinking.
Smell of cigarette smoke in bar from those smoking just outside door.
Overall the place was disappointing.
Great location on the high street, well presented and good bar selection.
Bathrooms need updating, cracks in ceiling also in there.
