Visit to Vatnahalsen
Pros:

Location was amazing, in the middle of mountains. I loved the interior of hotel with all nice old furniture. It was nice to have a break or read a book in the cosy living room and in the balcony and at the same time thinking the history that was hidden in the building. Hotel was pet friendly, so our dog enjoyed too.

Cons:

Train to Vatnahalsen is rather expensive. So need to plan carefully visits to other places around hotel.

This hotel was delightful and a highlight of our trip
Pros:

The breakfast was simple but perfect. Staff were so friendly helpful and were ready to go the extra mile. Dinner was really good although a little more than we expected. We loved staying in this hotel it was so comfortable and homely but with a luxury feel. The sauna was excellent and free t ok guests. We hope to return and would come to the area again just to visit the hotel.

Cons:

Would have liked a hairdryer In the room but imagine we could have got one from the reception.
Train was pricey to come and go as it was the tourist train.

Wonderful Staff at this historic hotel
Pros:

Fantastic Sauna that overlooked nature and the backside of the hotel. The hotel was situated on a pleasant walking path, near the top of the zipline.

Cons:

The hotel was a treat for us, and more expensive than we would normally spend. No King Size beds.

Lovely location and so peaceful - we stayed here for a night before going to Flåm - and its a much nicer location if you're not keen on big crowds!
Very friendly staff and they laid on nice gf bread for me, (plus dairy free and lactose free milks, and everything labelled for allergens).

Cons:

No cheaper evening meal options than a 3-course meal, but you know that when you book!

Incredible stay in an iconic location we'll never forget
Pros:

Absolutely beautiful surroundings visible through every window. Lovely, helpful and friendly staff who made us feel at home. Best sauna I've ever been in! Free tea and coffee available at all hours. Comfortable beds. Some furniture was a little dated, but that was part of the character of the place, and there were some really beautiful old artefacts to look at.

Cons:

Dinner was very expensive for what it was.

Paradijs in de Noorse bergen! Je wil er eigenlijk niet meer weg.
Pros:

Dit was de tweede keer dat ik in Vatnahalsen was, nu in de winter en dan is er natuurlijk geen mooiere plek op aarde om te zijn. Alles wit en dan dat rode hotel op de berg waar de gezelligheid en de gastvrijheid aan alle kanten uit komt. Ik had deze keer een andere (betere) kamer, maar voor heel veel mensen zal het nog steeds niet aan de eisen van de huidige tijd voldoen. Het is allemaal oud, maar alles doet het en de bedden liggen heerlijk. Als je de gordijnen opdoet, dan waar je je weer in het paradijs. Wat een geweldige plek en wat een fantastische mensen werken hier. Niets is ze te veel!!!! Ik kom hier zeker terug.

Cons:

Mij niks, maar ik wist wat ik kon verwachten. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je de eerste keer je bedenkingen hebt als je iets meer luxe en modern spul verwacht, dat is er allemaal niet, maar de sfeer en de gastvrijheid maken veel goed.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte prima di partire per Flåm.

Ho apprezzato l’arredamento dell’hotel con particolare riferimento agli spazi comuni: il salotto, la libreria e la sala da biliardo

Cons:

Il materasso del letto troppo morbido e affossato
