Negativity !!! Give your head a wobble
Pros:

Anyone who gives this hotel a negative rating needs to give their head a wobble.
You certainly get the WOW factor on arrival.
Booking in was easy and took just a few minutes. We arrived late due to immigration issues at the airport, but food was made available in the dining room (@ 1.30am).
Room on the 3rd floor, disappointed that there was not a balcony, but its only a room and it was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was an assortment of continental and English, always something to start your day.
There are the usual towels being left on beds all day, but we should all be used to that "brits abroad". But we always managed to find a bed or a seat in the sun.
Dinner/lunch served by the pool, this is more snack time than a meal, but always a variety and hot.
Evening meal, I think the hotel has got this right(personal opinion). A meat table, different each night( not Pork every night via previous post) a variety of other dishes, but not the usual mass of food that usually goes cold or to waste. Dietary requirements are taken into account and if you have preferences, ask the restaurant manager who will be happy to help. Also the dining room is very spacious , so you are not on top of each other or waiting for a seat.
The staff in the dining room and at the various bars are excellent and very personable.
We did not take in any of the entertainment so no comment.
We stayed 26th June for 7 days, loved it and will return.

AVID
Pros:

AVID this is not a 4 star more like 3 as mentioned previously. Room was nice hotel nice food was terrible pork every night no verity if you like pizza you will not be disappointed. There are a lot if steps in the building before you get to the lifts. No where to walk from the hotel roads are to dangerous so you would need to use the shuttle. Would I return again no thank you
A lot of money for a 4 star very let down.

A lovely hotel
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean, fresh towels every day and complimentary toiletries. We were on the 4th floor with a balcony with beautiful views down to the sea. Breakfast was cereals, variety of juices, fresh fruit, different breads and pastries and several hot choices. Buffet dinner with plenty to choose from and always a vegetarian option. Giovanni and his team in the restaurant were very courteous and nothing was too much trouble. There is also a pool bar serving light lunches and snacks, ice cream etc. The decor is very Italian in style. The entertainment was ok but on our last night there was an Italian folk dance group that was very good. The hotel is a bit out of Sorrento itself but there's a free shuttle bus running up until late at night. We would definitely stay here again, very good value.

AVOID
Pros:

had high hopes for Grand Hotel La Pace, especially after seeing the impressive entrance. The lobby is beautiful and creates the impression that you're staying in a quality 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to that first impression.
The room was very dated and looked tired and poorly maintained. The bathroom was disappointing, with rotting wood around the bath, and the shower wasn't functioning properly, spraying water everywhere. We had booked a double room but were given two single beds pushed together, which wasn't particularly comfortable.
Food
Breakfast: Limited choice, and the bacon was virtually inedible.
Lunch: Served outside beside the bar. It felt more like eating at a roadside truck stop than at a 4-star hotel, with little atmosphere or presentation.
Evening meals: Again, very basic. The food lacked variety, quality and flavour, and was well below what I'd expect from a hotel of this rating.
Pool
The biggest concern was the swimming pool. The water was very cloudy and looked dirty, giving the impression it hadn't been properly maintained. It looked like it needed shocking, and I wasn't confident it was hygienic enough to swim in.
Overall
The hotel has the potential to be much better because the building itself and the lobby are attractive, and the staff were polite. However, the bedrooms, bathrooms, food and pool maintenance let it down badly.
In my opinion, this is closer to a 3-star hotel than a 4-star hotel.
My ratings:
Lobby & first impression: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rooms: ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Bathroom: ⭐☆☆☆☆
Food: ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Pool: ⭐☆☆☆☆
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
I wouldn't return unless the hotel underwent a significant refurbishment and improved its food and maintenance standards.

Beautiful traditional hotel - perfect for a relaxed holiday with stunning views.
Pros:

We have just returned from a weeks stay here & were so happy with our choice to stay here. We stayed as a couple in our late 30s/early 40s and loved the traditional, relaxed feel the hotel had.

We stayed in a triple room with a mountain view on the 6th floor. Very peaceful with no surrounding noise. Decor is traditional and authentic. Rooms were cleaned daily and maids did a great job. Room was very spacious with good storage options.

Food was served in the main restaurant for breakfast & dinner and the pool area for lunch. The buffet selection was more limited that other all inclusive stays we have visited but everything we ate tasted lovely and we always enjoyed our meals. During lunch there is limited seating in the shade which could be an issue for some.

Pool area is nice & relaxing. Similar to other guests, we did experience some struggles with sunbeds. There were not enough there for the volume of guests and feel more are required.

Entertainment is very relaxed. There is a weekly disco night which we did not attend. Some low key entertainment is on other nights.

The drinks menu has a good choice - the aperol and limoncello spritz' were lovely but they are served in a glass tumbler.

The shuttle bus down into Sorrento was perfect. Great schedule with departures running prompt and on time.

Overall a really lovely stay. Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews. I went thinking I would not enjoy the decor or aesthetic of the hotel as it is unlike our usual holiday choices, but we both ended up loving the decor and overall vibe of the hotel.

Would 100% go back.

Staff were all lovely - found everyone to be so calm & polite.

So good we're returning 4 months later!
Pros:

Best holiday ever. I was recommended this hotel by a work colleague. We travelled as two couples, in our 50s, and 60s. We stayed for 10 days in May. We were late in booking so there were no front facing rooms left so we had Juliet balconies overlooking the trees and hills which was very quiet. I'd worried about noise from workers as stated in the hotel blurb but I shouldn't have worried as we only heard one man hammer for 5 mins one day. The food was excellent for us. So much variety with special Italian pasta dishes, meat and fish, and great vegetables. One of our group had a restricted diet and she managed to find something to eat every meal. I did hear one woman who didn't know what a courgette or an aubergine was, so I'd suggest some of the complaints about bad food might be some who are used to just eating the same thing every day. The Saturday Italian evening is just the best. The Tarantella group made my heart sing. They were so wonderful, and the disco afterwards was a really good vibe. All the staff were amazing - each one of them. The rooms were clean and towels changed daily. The shuttle bus into Sorrento is really handy. The beds are hard but we prefer them this way and we slept great. I hear what others say about lack of sunbeds. We always managed to get one but I saw others struggle. This was our first time in Italy and we explored so much of Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Herculaneum. We loved it so much my husband decided we're going back for his 60th in September!
We booked a lot of our excursions through a place in Sorrento near the square (Lexia Viaggi sp?) rather than through Jet2. The Pompeii/Herculaneum one was a godsend as it had the lunch in the middle which was perfect on a scorching day like we had. Jet2 didn't have this option so I'm glad we booked elsewhere for that one, and the Amalfi Coast one.
If I were to give any feedback for management to consider I'd suggest finding ways to better manage the sunbed situation, and also to consider other evening entertainment rather than just the Saturday night, as wonderful as it is. As someone else mentioned - there is other entertainment but it's more of a background thing rather than a main event. But all in all, we loved it, we return soon, and have been telling all our friends about it. Thank you to all the staff at Grand Hotel La Pace!

Traditional hotel
Pros:

A traditionally decorated Italian hotel. Food was great. No gimmicky theme evenings, just good English and Italian style food. Air conditioning throughout the hotel is great. Evening entertainment was inside, moved outside on the last evening of our stay. Best entertainment was the disco night, the rest was like background noise.
People mentioned walking into sorrento, we walked down the hill and back only once, there are no footpaths and the road is narrow down to sant angello. The shuttle bus is definitely the better option. We had a room on the back, not an attractive view, but nice and peaceful.

Definitely NOT a 5 star ⭐ hotel
Pros:

Firstly, this is definitely not a 5 star hotel. I would say it is more like a 3 star ⭐️

We are both late 50’s but the average age is pushing 70 and it did feel like a retirement home at times. I did feel for the younger couples who had booked this hotel.

Rooms are outdated and could benefit from an upgrade. It is air conditioned which is perfect and a god send.

We paid extra for a Juliet balcony but it wasn’t worth it as it overlooked a wall. If I had known this I would not have bothered.

Pool is small and there are not enough sunbeds for the number of guests, let alone umbrellas. They did have deckchairs but the metal gets very hot on them in the sun.

Same problem with the lunch area which is outside. Not enough chairs in the shaded area so we ended up eating late to get some shade whilst eating.

Food is ok but very bland & the same. It does offer some variety but it is quite limited. I have stayed at 3 star ⭐ hotels in Spain with so much more on offer compared to here.

Jet2 really need to review this hotel because everyone we have spoken to this week has said the same about food, their rooms, the pool, chairs etc

You do get fresh towels everyday.

It has had its day and it shows.

Lots of people eat out rather than staying for the all inclusive.

Jet2 have half the rooms but not willing to move people to better rooms.

Definitely not suitable if you have mobility issues as quite a lot of the cliental did have.

Would I recommend to my friends & family - simple answer no. We paid quite a bit for this week break thinking we were getting a little bit of luxury & this certainly wasnt the case.

Hugely disappointed with our stay & Jet2

Great hotel for vegetarians
Pros:

On arrival at the Grand Hotel La Pace we were immediately impressed by the grandeur of the hotel.
We were greeted by the friendly reception staff.
If you are looking for a bland , modern , faceless hotel then this one is not for you ,
However , if you appreciate Italian style and elegance then look no further . This hotel is truly grand and steeped in charm with a welcoming atmosphere.
We booked as two couples , myself and my wife are both vegetarians . We informed the hotel in advance via email of our dietary requirements , we had a reply stating that the head waiters would be at our disposal for all our needs.
Sure enough they certainly were . Every evening we were served at the table with two delicious a-la-carte meals which were different every night of our ten night stay . In addition we could also choose from the buffet .
Unlike many hotels we have stayed in where they have a choice of two soups both meat based and no vege’ option and pasta with ham . At the Grand Hotel La Pace the soup was always vegetarian and always two pasta dishes to choose from in addition to salads and vegetables . And to finish with lots of proper cakes , profiteroles and fruit .
Everything was clearly labelled with restaurant staff always on hand to help if required.
The fresh fruit was delicious with different varieties of melon , cherries , peaches , nectarines , kiwis and lots more .
Our two friends are not vegetarian but they too were impressed with the meals and the variety to choose from .
Lunch was taken by the pool , always two varieties of vegetarian pizza and at least one vegetarian pasta plus salads , mozzarella and tomatoes , couscous , and fries followed by cakes and ice cream .
By the way Giovanni was amazing on the disco in the evening .
If you intend going on excursions then you can book with the Jet2 rep at the hotel and pay by card or excursions can be booked at hotel reception by a different provider but these are cash only , a list of these can be obtained from reception.
We had a fabulous holiday . Thank you to all the friendly staff at the Grand Hotel La Pace especially the chef , we were lucky to thank him personally for his time and his culinary skills in creating such amazing meals to make our holiday extra special .

Great base to explore
Pros:

Great base to explore from. The reception and bar area are beautiful , looks like a movie set from the 30's. All the staff were great and the reception staff very helpful sorting trips and giving advice about the local area. The rooms were not the biggest but adequate for what we needed with coffee making facility and safe. The food in the main restaurant was always nice , not the biggest choice but what was there was good. Lunch is served by the pool , again not a massive choice but always something tasty with freshly made pizza and salads etc. The pool is small and on the roof with limited sunbeds , so be up early or go late afternoon. The hotel is located about 30 -40 minute walk from town but offers a free shuttle bus which is a God send.

Beautiful hotel & fantastic holiday!
Pros:

Beautiful, spotlessly clean hotel. Really don’t understand the negative reviews here at all. The staff were all pleasant & very helpful. I must mention Maximus (I hope that’s correct) who worked in the restaurant & pool area at lunchtime. Such a lovely man & also Amine who worked the bars was superb.

Our room was spotless & cleaned every day with fresh towels. We only had a tiny balcony, but let’s be honest when you’re away on holiday a room is to sleep in so it wasn’t an issue for us at all.

The food was good & im very fussy & also have to be careful what I eat. There was always plenty. The bread was beautiful & the salmon was the best I’ve ever tasted. Always plenty of fresh fruit too.
It was also a great A/I drinks package.

Pool area clean & well kept & everything was nearby ie: pool bar & toilet but needed to go down quite early to get sunbeds as people do reserve them.

Complimentary shuttle bus to Sorrento every day at various convenient times.

It is an adult only hotel but when we went I’d say it was more for over 40’s & I wouldn’t really say it was for younger adults. The entertainment was sedate, we are in our 50’s & the slow pace & age range suited us just fine.
One of the best holidays we have ever had!

Thank you all at Hotel la Pace for making our holiday in Sorrento a very memorable one!

Disappointed
Pros:

The area and the entrance to the hotel is amazing, the shuttle bus into sorrento is a big bonus .
The foyer is beautiful and reception staff are amazing very helpful and polite .

Rooms are dated and uncomfortable, beds are hard but not as bad as the pillows which are like sandbags , rooms are not very clean .

Pool area is nice but can be noisy due to roads both side of the hotel.
Not enough sun beds or umbrellas unfortunately people are reserving beds and not coming back .

Waiting and bar staff are very hard working and cheerful. However they can only make drinks from the menu.
Food was the biggest disappointment, not enough choice the main meat at dinner was pork 3 nights out of 4, and then venison , the only time I had hot food was at breakfast long waits at the omelette station, main restaurant and pool side food was never hot.

Would I return to the grand hotel la pace. NO which is a shame, the hotel could be so much better.

Sorrento Mini Break
Pros:

Spent an absolutely amazing 3 nights at this hotel and had a lovely break. Stayed in one of the executive suite with my friend, lovely room, food good, drinks good, free shuttle bus into Sorrento and staff lovely, all
Round hood base to explore Sorento. Will be booking again as needed a few more nights to see sights. If I had one negative it would be that a few more sun beds needed. Thank you Grand Hotel La Pace, for a lovely break

Superb Hotel
Pros:

Hotel was superb, our room was excellent with double balcony on the 6th floor overlooking the swimming pool and fantastic views across the bay to Mount Vesuvius in the distance.
Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful if anything was required.
Food was excellent and I cannot understand how anyone can complain about it, there was so much choice and even the fussiest of people would be able to find something they liked.
Good choice of Drinks, but limited to own brands, which isn’t bad, but would have been good to see ‘real’ Baileys 😁

Great base to explore Sorrento
Pros:

Just returned from a 7 day stay booked garden/mountain view room we got a room with no view only a small piece of grass looking at a tree that was disappointing but the room itself was lovely big and clean.
We found some staff ok and the older gentlemen in the restaurant had their favourite people they greeted but were very rude and ignorant to us,I sat down to breakfast to be told the table was reserved while I was eating in front of a packed room, there was no reserving tables as far as I knew.
The food was good always found something not a lot of choice at lunch apart from burnt pizza !
The clientele were over 50/60 so be aware of that if younger as it says adult only.
Entertainment a couple of singers very low key till Saturday night disco which was awful.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and used it as a base to explore Sorrento and surrounding areas.
