Magnífico, bonito espaçoso e confortável, hotel antigo e conservado igual as fotos, funcionários atenciosos e dispõe de ônibus que leva e traz para o centro. Vale muito a pena
The worst all inclusive hotel ever. I have been to many all inclusive places but never to a place like this. Food is the worst part. They have the same food more or less everyday. Lunch and late lunch served by the pool if you’re late no more is prepared your eating cold scraps. Even though it says lunch start at 12:30 then late lunch till 4:30pm its an absolute joke. Evening meal served in main restaurant only ONE option for vegetarian most likely mushroom pasta as it has been every day for the past 4 days. So you’re living of lettuce, cucumber and cabbage if you don’t like mushroom pasta everyday. The rooms, pool and the hotel looks old nothing like the pictures on advertisements. The location of this hotel is on top of a hill it does offer shuttle service but same time around meal times. If you book a taxi into sorrento town it costs you €25-€30 for a 8-10 minute drive. Theres way better hotels than this, save your time, do your research before booking this apparently 5 star hotel. I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star. Also when booking a room if you choose the standard room most likely you’re view is going to be around the back of the hotel with a view of some bushes.
Really don't understand all the negative reviews!!! We returned yesterday to the UK from this hotel. We are a family of 4 - mum, dad a 22 year old daughter and 19 year old son. We had two standard rooms - 220 & 221. On arrival our welcome was extremely friendly. The hotel feels very grand. Yes it's not modern but that's what we wanted given we were holidaying in a traditional part of Italy. The hotel was built in 2000 so was built in this style. It was spotlessly clean, gleaming mirrors and marble floors.
Rooms - Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beds were just right for us. The room had plenty of hanging and storage space, a safe and fridge which was stocked daily with 2 large bottles of water. The bathroom spacious and very clean - amazing shower! Our rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels every day and bedding changed during our stay.
Food - couldn't fault it. Heard a few moans and groans from other guests at times, but you can't please everyone! Plenty of choice at every meal. Breakfast there was loads of fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, cooked breakfast items, juices. Lunch was served at the outside pool bar - pizza, chips, mozzarella, tomatoes, salads, hot and cold pastas. Evening meals were from 7pm and plenty of choice again - fresh pasta, soup, salads, meats, hot selection of fish, meats, potatoes, vegetables. Plenty of beer, wine and prosecco. The waiting staff were incredible, friendly and prompt to clear your table. Nothing was too much trouble.
The entertainment was ok for us, a couple of singers midweek, on a Saturday night they have an Italian themed night where they dress the restaurant and have a traditional group of singers and dancers, then a disco afterwards downstairs in the bar - great fun.
The pool is cool but refreshing on a hot day! Plenty of beds and no fighting for them. Lots of other outdoor seating too. Lovely views of Vesuvius from the pool terrace. Pool bar was great with brilliant selection of wine, beer, prosecco , spirits and cocktails. Ice cream was available at lunch and in the afternoon. The shuttle bus was a welcome addition as taxis to Sorento are expensive for the short journey (€25 euro for 5-10 mins) but that isn't the hotels fault. The shuttle gets busy but we always had a seat on it.
Sorry for the long review but find it so unfair to read some of the negative reviews!
All in all cannot fault this hotel and would happily return in a heartbeat. Extremely good value for money.
Absolutely awful. Rooms disgusting and full of mould. Service none existent. Food terrible. For all inclusive it is dreadful. We are eating out at our expense. Shame on you jet2 for using and selling this hotel.
When complained about the room couldn’t or wouldn’t move us but did come and BLEACH some of the mould
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL….CLAIMING TO BE A 5 STAR. JOKE.
We have just spent 11 nights at The Grand Hotel La Pace and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The reception area/entrance/foyer definitely has the wow factor.
Our room was on the 4th floor with a balcony, a table and 2 chairs and a magnificent view over the sea, Sorrento and Mt. Vesuvius. The room was cleaned daily and the bed was very comfortable.
We were on first name terms with some of the staff who were very friendly, entertaining and helpful.
Big shout out to Giovanni, Andre, Massimo and Keram. And to the Freddie Mercury lookalike who was a total flirt and made us laugh.
There were a few of the waiting staff though who just looked downright miserable.
Food was fresh and tasty.
Saturday night is Neopolitan night. The dining room is decorated and the waiters wear brightly coloured silk ties and waistbands. The folk dancers were terrific.
Following that, there's a disco down in the Velvet bar where Mr. Giovanni is dj.
The Jet2 reps Vittorio and Zoe were friendly and helpful.
Previous reviews mentioned that a mini bus was the shuttle bus. That's certainly not the case now. They are actually large, clean & comfortable coaches.
The hotel was quite quiet during the first week. The second week was a lot busier and it was hard to get a seat in the Velvet bar some evenings. I loved the pool bar and the lunch served there and the selection of cocktails was very good.
I would definitely like to return to this hotel. Apparently, the rooms are being refurbished from November.
We had a wonderful, Fun and relaxing stay.
Stunning hotel with luxurious feel and wonderful views
A little out of the way and not enough going on
Clean, spacious, and with extremely friendly staff every one of them
Nothing
Overall good holiday. Hotel a little garish for my taste but it’s all part of the hotels charm. Staff are friendly from reception to maintenance. Minor issues dealt with right away. I did not like the location of the hotel. As others have said walking downhill can be dangerous as lacks footpaths. Shuttle bus was a great service provided by hotel but it was a shame there was not a booking system. Passengers often standing in aisle as far too many people on bus. Also the idea of queuing seemed to have been left back in UK. Food and drinks were fine.
First appearance hotel looks fab. Closer inspection it's rather outdated. Breakfast is come early or it's cold. Toaster either burnt or warm bread. Staff are all very nice. Food overall not of a particularly high standard which is a shame. Entertainment is null and void and anything stated is not what id call Entertainment. Hotel does lay on a complimentary bus to town which is good. Rooms are clean but carpets needs a deep clean
The hotel isn’t in the centre of Sorrento. It’s about a 15/20 walk there down roads which have no footpaths in sections. There is a punctual shuttle coach that goes both ways.
We requested and paid for a sea view with a high floor so no one was in a room above us. We were on the 4th floor and the view was good. Unfortunately there were two floors above us and as the floors are tiled rather than carpeted you can hear people in the room above.
Maid service was excellent with clean towels every day.
Pool towels are very old and need replacing.
Food is acceptable but not brilliant. It’s all kept in water bath heated trays so if you’re not there when it’s first served then it isn’t very pleasant.
We had ants in the room one morning but this was dealt with quickly.
Waiters and waitresses are all very pleasant.
Unfortunately the pool side drinks are served in very small plastic beakers. You have to double up on your order each time or make friends with the barman and ask for full measures.
Our bathroom stank of sewage on more than one occasion which was pretty dreadful, you could even smell it in the corridors at times.
The whole hotels decor is dated but I suppose that is part of the charm.
We personally won’t return as I believe there is far better accommodation available for a similar budget.
Avoid the Saturday night local dancing band, we found it far too loud and annoying. We actually went out for dinner the following week purposely to avoid a repeat of the experience.
Du choix sur le petit déjeuner, offre du all inclusive par le peu de client
Extremely clean, great staff.
Overall lovely hotel.
Travelling with 2 older people who struggle with walking.....it was a long walk to get food from the buffet.
Priority tables would of been nice for people who struggle so they are nearer when carrying food etc
Just arrived home from a week stay. The hotel is very boutique. As soon as you walk in it is very impressive lots of marble leather settees . Check in was easy our room wasn’t ready so we went for lunch.
Room: our room overlooked the pool plenty storage space. Fridge free safe and cleaned every day with fresh towels. Kettle and cups and a litre of water supplied daily . Beds were comfy .
Pool: didn’t go in the pool but plenty of sun beds you don’t need to get up early to reserve maybe in the high season you would. Pool towels supplied and you can change them at reception.
Drinks: peroni on draft wine awful and although it says Coke Zero it was very sugary . Coffee machine available but the juice in breakfasts tastes of water down squash .
Location: 20 minutes walk into Sorrento or there is a free shuttle bus set up a hill but views are lovely
Now the bad:
Food: food is awful. Breakfast no fresh omelettes as I had previously read was available. Two choice of yogurt. Nothing hot . No fresh fried eggs and the ones that were ready made had not been cooked properly. No variety .
Lunch: this is a 4 star hotel and lunch is at the pool snack bar. Food left uncovered not good and cold salad items there was 4 items all tasted vinegary . I only had the ice cream everyday for lunch. Not what I would class as ideal.
Evening meal: same every night lukewarm warm few choices of meat one potatoes dish couple of vegetables . Pasta heated up and was always with a sauce.
Deserts were couple of cakes and chopped fruit. No ice cream .
Felt that the food really let this hotel down
Entertainment: never really stayed to watch few singers and couple nights in the restaurant they had folk dancers and a guy walking round singing
If you go to the reception you can book a meal at the converted monastery. Would definitely recommend best meal of my holiday. The views are stunning overlooking Sorrento and the sunset is stunning. The restaurant pick you up and drop you off by taxi no charge.
Overall I would stay again as room only the food really let’s this hotel down as all staff are friendly and welcoming
Clean hotel, friendly staff. In room 119 which found to smell of damp. Possibly not used since last year but at least needed airing and as it turned out a fan that worked in the bathroom. Asked to change bedroom. Not possible hotel said- full ( no it wasnt). Food OK but nothing special. We've been on several AI hols and this was far from in the top few. Disappointed that no pack lunches available when out on daytrips- again always found this in other AI hotels. Shuttle bus OK but times limited. One coach for 2 hotels meant standing room for about 12 people some guests couldn't even get on the coach. More capacity needed.
Saturday night 'entertainment' was local folk band- fine BUT they performed around the dining room with singing, dancing and percussion instruments. So be warned no quiet night on Saturdays. Would we return to this hotel? NO
Staff were amazing, a beautiful, classical hotel. Food was excellent.
No issues.
We arrived on 14th April 2026 & received a very warm welcome from reception staff!
A quick lunch by the pool bar while we waited for our room was lovely! Food was great, plenty of choice & very freshly cooked. A nice cold Peroni to complete the lunch & we were then shown to our room! We noted on the way the beautiful surroundings & baroque features & panelled walls with wrought iron stairs.
Our room was 512 with a sea view & Juliet balcony & did not disappoint! The view was beautiful!
Beds comfy & everything very clean. My main concern was the bath with shower over, which I found difficult to get in without being half lifted.. but I
managed & it was the only negative so far which was good!
Dinner was lovely & food was good for the rest of our holiday! The stairs down to the bar were a bit
challenging, again with help I managed but would not recommend for severely disabled.
However, the staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for any of them & everything ran like clockwork. Entertainment good for time of year but only 4 nights per week but expect more in summer. To sum up it was a great holiday, a courtesy bus into Sorrento, a train station 20 mins walk into the town of St Agnello to take you to Pompei, Herculeum & Naples was easy! To complete the picture we had a pool & comfy sunbeds… we loved Grand Hotel La Pace & will be back! Please ignore the haters!
Wow what a beautiful hotel. If you want a typical Italian hotel then this is the one.
An amazing experience. We have just returned from a 4 day city break and wished we had booked a week or 2.
Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was good with plenty of choice and drinks were great.
In an ideal spot for visiting the local town of Sant Agnello and a walkable distance to Sorrento although they put on a courtesy bus.
We have holidayed in many countries and many hotels but this is a real gem. We have come home and are already looking at booking to go back.
Don't miss out on this truly beautiful gem. You won't regret it. It is honestly exactly as advertised.
