Actons Hotel Kinsale

Actons Hotel, beautifully situated on the harbour, with parking, which is at a premium in the town. However, I would say that the quality of the hotel is quite shabby. The room was okay and we had an excellent view. I felt that the cleanliness of the hotel wasn't really up to par. We were in the elevator several times over the course of our couple of days stay, and there was smudges and dirt in the elevator that were not cleaned off also as well. The carpets in the dining room and in the main rooms were actually dirty. Having the breakfast, the quality of the food seemed to be the cheapest food that you could possibly have. So overall, disappointed with the hotel and felt that on the website it was portrayed as more luxury than it actually was. There is a swimming pool and health centre which is nearby, which was actually really, really good, and one of the best things about the stay. Although you must remember that in Ireland you always need to wear a swim cap in the swimming pool. The location is great for exploring the town and everything is walkable from there. In fact, we stayed there for two days and did not move our car until the end of our stay.

Beautiful view overlooking the pier, the room was spacious and luminous. A nice coffee machine and two large bottles of water, still and sparkling, were appreciated.

Hotel well situated and we had a nice room overlooking the harbour. We did have to change rooms though as tricky shower over bath in first one. Nice front lawn to sit on. Decent size pool (a bit aged), nice lounge bar food and good breakfast. Decor is quite tired given price of hotel. Housekeepings is very slow - we waited hours for cleaning despite chasing which made going back to the room difficult. Some rooms require quite a few steps up and down with luggage even once you have gone up in the lift which is not ideal and no warning of this. I hovered between 3 and 4 stars but whilst we had a nice time not sure it is worth a very good grading - probably 3.5 stars and good rather than average though. I would go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Actons...well located close to the town centre, wonderful view from our Harbour View room and great service throughout including the delicious breakfast.

Actons Hotel is gorgeous. The location cannot be beat, with water views from every room. Our rooms were spotless, completely silent, and the amenities and staff are wonderful. I loved that after returning from dinner, I found the maid service had closed my curtains, put chocolates on the pillows, and turned on the TV to Lyric FM, Ireland's classical radio station. It was a warm welcome indeed.

Beautifully Situated hotel, we had a lovely few days in Actons. The Staff were brilliant and so friendly. Food in the bar was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

Nicely located, walking distance to the cute town Kinsale and we had a harbor view room (exactly on the picture ) and very clean. Having a glass of wine looking over the Harbor was so enjoyable and priceless. Extra money was a worth. Even facing to the busy street, having parking space gives some set back and noise was not the issue. Breakfast was great and guests can use the next door local fitness club having a pool, Jacuzzi and fitness center which was handy after golfing. Having parking space is a huge as town is very congested and difficult to find a parking space. The Staff was friendly. The bar was way too bright lights at night and did not have a right vive. We went out for drinks outside.
overall, we made a good choice and very happy to come back again .

We really enjoyed our stay at Actons . The staff are amazing- efficient, friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is close to town and our room was lovely with superb views . We will certainly hope to return soon .
