A city revitalized.
Pros:

The location was good close to the Gugenheim Museum, parks, small shopping centre (across the street), and new architectural structures. The junior staff were very helpful at discussing transportation options and arranging transportation. The building is beautiful inside architecturally.

Cons:

The plumbing was noisy. There is a sense of not quite being up to expectations.

Nos alojamos cuatro noches en Meliá Bilbao, en dos habitaciones con desayuno incluido.

Lo más decepcionante fue descubrir durante el desayuno que existen dos servicios de desayuno diferentes colocados en la misma área y designados según la categoría de habitación, uno de ellos asociado a The Level que es para miembros del club Meliá. En nuestro caso, se nos indicó que no podíamos acceder a una propuesta de desayuno, cuya variedad y presentación nos parecieron claramente superiores.

Entiendo perfectamente que un hotel ofrezca ventajas y servicios adicionales a quienes sean miembros de su club. Lo que me resultó muy desagradable fue encontrar esta diferenciación en espacios tan próximos y de manera tan visible durante el desayuno, cuando nuestra reserva simplemente indicaba que el desayuno estaba incluido. De hecho, POSTERIORMENTE la propia dirección del hotel nos confirmó por escrito que existen “dos servicios de desayuno diferenciados e independientes”.

También quedamos decepcionadas con el servicio de habitaciones. Durante nuestras cuatro noches no se cambiaron las sábanas y las camas quedaban deficientemente hechas, con las sábanas arrugadas.

Hay que saber que la piscina es muy pequeñita y el área tampoco está limpia.

Por último, durante el desayuno de nuestro último día, el empleado varón encargado de recibir a los huéspedes y asignar las mesas se dirigió a nosotras de una manera particularmente grosera y descortés. Lo comunicamos posteriormente a la dirección del hotel la cual no hizo nada al respecto.

Viajo con frecuencia y suelo alojarme en hoteles de cinco estrellas. Entiendo perfectamente que existan distintas categorías y servicios premium, pero la combinación del desayuno, el servicio de habitaciones y, especialmente, el trato recibido el último día hizo que nuestra experiencia estuviera muy por debajo de lo que esperaba de un establecimiento de esta supuesta categoría.

Absolut empfehlenswert für eine Städtereise nach Bilbao
Pros:

Freundlichkeit des Personals, Service und Niveau des Frühstücks und Abendessens – wir waren mit allen sehr zufrieden.

Die Lage des Hotels ist einzigartig. Auf der einen Seite der Fluss, auf der anderen Seite ein Park, gegenüber ein Einkaufszentrum – also mittendrin im Geschehen und trotzdem ruhig. Bis zum Guggenheim-Museum ist es ein Spaziergang, das malerische Viertel Abando nebenan, der ÖPNV vor der Tür. Wir haben alle unsere Ziele übrigens problemlos fußläufig erreichen können.

Auch die Architektur des Hotels passt sich in das moderne Bilbao ein, fasziniert waren wir von der Gestaltung des Foyers/Innenbereichs des Hotels.

Great stay very well located in Bilbao and very comfy
Pros:

Nice location, beautiful building, nice and comfortable rooms and very good facilities including gym, pool and sauna.
Staff was super nice and helpful, and they adapted to our asks. 100% I will repeat when going to Bilbao

Beautiful hotel but poor experience
Pros:

Excellent location. Stunning interior. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

Completely ripped off in the restaurant by being charged a colossal amount for ‘special steak’ which was very poorly explained by the restaurant staff in terms of quantity and price. Given one bill which was extortionate only to be told this bill was incorrect and produced a further bill which was an additional €80. Outrageous. Such a lovely hotel let down by the service and advice of their restaurant staff. Ruined our stay. Did a road trip through France and Spain and had such an enjoyable experience throughout only to end our last night of our holiday with this terrible experience.
