Comfortable bed, beautiful grounds
Food and beverage department left a lot to be desired. 30 minutes at the dinner table and not one person came over to take even our drink order We had to go up to the bar to order. Manager and wait staff kept circulating by tables but not actually looking to see if anyone needed anything. The table next to us had to get up and ask where their tea was that they ordered at least 40 minutes earlier and a guest at their table asked where her food was 20 minutes after that, only to be told that the order never went into the kitchen. Breakfast next morning was also poorly attended. Buffet not restocked, hot food was cold and really only one poor girl was working her tail off, and the others were walking around looking busy but actually doing very little. Poor Food and Beverage management here to be honest.
The front desk staff were lovely. The rooms comfortable but the heating system was difficult to figure out. Our room was very cold. The lighting was so poor, that I couldn't even read my book.The housekeeping staff were all very friendly and the room was spotless.
Absolutely beautiful grounds, super for walks and a haven for golfers, such a pity F&B let the side down so badly.
Ps.There were two younger girls working one at dinner and one at breakfast, who were working so hard. They deserve not to be singled out as members of the poor team, they were trying so hard to keep everyone happy but it was too much work for them alone.
This review makes me sound like a difficult person to please but I rarely write bad reviews, this hotel could be great, they just need to improve their food offering and service.

Lovely spacious room. Staff are extremely nice, and it’s a lovely location.
Very dated in parts such as the main bar area. Could do with some comfort and warmth such as a fire and nicer tables/lighting. Additionally there was Christmas music playing in summer?? Just needs atmospheric help.

We were very disappointed with the downstairs restaurant. The interior is not inviting and the bar is pretty poor. When we wanted to go to the upstairs restaurant we were turned down because we weren’t planning on ordering a meal. Very disappointed with the way we were treated by the restaurant staff.

Un bijou. Il abrite un club de golf et est relativement isolé. Ma chambre avait un balcon dont j'aurais aimé profiter davantage si le temps n'avait pas été maussade. Je devais prendre un appel téléphonique en provenance de l'étranger, et la coopération du personnel a été très appréciée. Le petit déjeuner était excellent, le souper à la brasserie du rez-de-chaussée plus ordinaire. L'attraction principale du coin est le château de Russborough.
