Good:
1) Lot of restaurants and 7-11 s surrounding it, so that's good.
2) The security and the transport guy outside help everyone.
Bad
3) Rooms are not upto the mark, pretty old..specially the bed..spring protruding...hard..anyone sleeping, sure to have a sprain. The bathroom shower was broken.
4) The lobby looks like a scrubbed out version of a good hotel....listless, not at all inspiring.
5) Even if rooms are available, they will be provided at 2.
6) 2 small sized bottles of water? This is the same for every hotel in Thailand, for well being adequate water or refill needs to be provided.
My stay at Ramada Bangkok was honestly a very disappointing experience. The service was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The room was not hygienic at all — there were cockroaches and a lot of bugs inside the room, even in the kettle, which was extremely unpleasant and unacceptable for a hotel stay.
The staff was also not very friendly or helpful, and the overall hospitality felt poor. The food quality was below expectations and did not feel fresh or hygienic either.
Overall, the hotel did not feel clean, comfortable, or well-maintained. I would definitely not recommend staying here based on my experience.
לא אהבתי בכלל את המקום
קודם כל את האמבטיה ואת השירותים
The location
The neighbourhood looks run down and even in the 19th floor room there was no view. Breakfast didn’t match Ramada’s reputation
Staffs are very helpful. Special thank to UTurn. Excellent driver.
Too many indians
Não comi
O hotel é velho e as fotos não correspondem com a realidade.
O ginásio está em mau estado, tem aparelhos velhos e que não funcionam!
Room was comfortable but a little dated, we were only in Bangkok for one night, everything was a short Uber ride away. Was perfect for our long layover
Easy check in and out,
Fantastic breakfast
Very supportive receptionist, English speaking
The lobby area is awesome
Very nice night views
The mattresses are a bit old and not so comfortable
The bathing soap and the lotion is too little for a double room
We traveled to Bangkok for a family trip with my son (16 years) and my brother. Unfortunately, choosing Ramada DMA Bangkok as our first hotel turned out to be a major mistake.
While booking through the MakeMyTrip (MMT) app, I accurately entered complete guest details, selecting 2 adults and 1 child (age 16). The app clearly allows selecting a child’s age up to 17 years, so I entered all information honestly and correctly. The booking showed “Confirmed for the full stay.”
However, after landing in Bangkok at 11 PM and reaching the hotel around 12 midnight, we were met with a completely unwelcoming and rude female receptionist. She bluntly stated that a “child” is considered only up to 12 years, and my son (16 years) would be treated as an adult. She demanded an additional 1,000 Baht, without any prior notice.
When I questioned why MMT allows selecting a child’s age up to 17 years and why I should be punished for entering correct details, her response was extremely rude:
“That is MMT’s problem, not ours. Check with them. I cannot do anything.”
Despite my booking being fully paid and confirmed, the hotel refused to provide the room, leaving us stranded at the reception for nearly 2 hours after midnight.
Trying to contact MMT was another nightmare:
The local Indian customer care number did not work
Internet connectivity was poor
They kept attempting to call my India number, fully aware it would not work in Bangkok
After prolonged struggle, MMT finally suggested we pay 500 Baht extra, citing terms hidden on their website—something a normal customer would never reasonably expect or know. Even then, the hotel insisted on 1,000 Baht, leaving us with no real option at 2 AM, especially with a family.
This behavior felt forced, unfair, and exploitative. What made this experience worse is that this is my second similar incident with this hotel. Two years ago, they also demanded extra money at check-in despite confirmed booking.
Anticipating issues, I had emailed the hotel before traveling, asking if the booking was fully confirmed. They replied “Yes, it is confirmed”, but conveniently did not mention any extra charges for the third guest who was already declared during booking.
This raises serious concerns:
Why are hidden charges not disclosed upfront?
Why is the full amount not collected at the time of booking?
Why are Indian guests treated as if the hotel is doing them a favor?
In the end, I was forced to pay 1,000 Baht extra, on top of my already paid amount, simply because it was late night and we had no choice.
To make matters worse, the hotel itself was not even worth ₹2,000 per night, yet I ended up paying over ₹6,000 for barely 12 hours. There was zero hospitality, zero politeness, and absolute lack of professionalism.
I am extremely disappointed with both Ramada DMA Bangkok and MakeMyTrip. I will pursue a refund and escalate this matter, even if it requires approaching a consumer forum. This kind of treatment, lack of transparency, and poor support is completely unacceptable.
Hospitality and courtesy are clearly not part of this hotel’s dictionary.
