The hotel is beautiful set beside the marina in Ipswich . Sitting out on an evening with a glass of wine was just like being abroad!
The food was excellent , the air conditioning was very welcome, given the temperature was over 30 degrees every day. What made our holiday even more memorable was the wonderful staff. Without exception every single one of them gave outstanding service throughout our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Came here to celebrate with the family post wedding. Was lovely. Thank you
We booked the spa, dinner, room and breakfast package.
We arrived at lunchtime and ordered a snack and drink. The staff were amazing and extremely polite. Reception came and found us when it was our time to use the spa. They had arranged for our bags to be taken up to the 1st floor spa.
I have to say the area is lovely. Everything in the spa was very modern, clean, and luxurious. With French windows over looking the marina made it perfect. Ruby and ?(sorry I have forgotten your name) were extremely helpful and showed us around and explained how the facilities worked.
When it was time for our treatments Ruby and ? came and led us to the treatment room
The products were very good as were the facial and massage.
They arranged to get our room key for us so we didn’t have to walk down to reception in dressing gowns.
Our room 406 was superbly furnished and looked out over the marina.
Dinner was really good (too much) and breakfast was amazing. Most certainly will return and full recommend this hotel and spa.
We had the most relaxing experience and the staff were fabulous
Thank you
We had two nights in the restaurant though sadly unable to stay (group of 19).
Great area - felt like being on holiday sitting watching the boats and seagulls!
The staff both evenings were great - efficient and could not have done more for us
and the atmosphere was fun.
Short walk off the Waterfront to the Novotel which was ideal.
Not a fan of the recent renovations/ changes I'm afraid. The previously spacious and relaxing lounge / reception area now feels cramped with the panoramic view of the waterfront from the window seats now compromised. The previously imposing reception desk has been replaced by a small table tucked away in the corner.
The restaurant is much lighter (which is a good thing) but also seemed noisier (maybe due to increased number of tables / removal of walls which maybe muffled the sound).
The main disappointment for me was the rebrand of the restaurant from a Bistro to a British Brasserie. If it hadn't been for a 'special' I literally wouldn't have wanted anything on the menu. Fish and chips, sausage and mash, fish pie etc are quite frankly uninspiring and what I'd expect from a pub not a high end restaurant. I was tempted by the whole Dover sole until I realised the only potato accompaniment was chips or mashed potato. The choice of only 3 desserts (plus ice cream or cheese) was also poor and unusually for me I chose to skip dessert.
Service was good and staff very helpful but sadly I wouldn't rush back.
Modern , eclectic decor , great staff , amazing location
Nothing
Very nice hotel and the staff were excellent. We were part of a group and sometimes they got our breakfast orders wrong or forgotten. Room was lovely with a view over the marina. Would recommend it if in Ipswich
The staff were friendly and most helpful. We arrived early enough to be able to park in the hotel car park and were pleased to find that our room was ready too. Fantastic view from our 4th floor room. A few minor decor and cleaning points which marred what could have been an immaculate room. Was a comfortable hotel in a superb location. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
We have stayed in this hotel several times and have loved it every time. Rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean and with a wonderful view of the marina.
We had cocktails in the afternoon which were delicious and then ate in the restaurant. Food was very high quality and service friendly and efficient.
We will definitely be returning.
Only one very small negative is that the toiletries in the bedrooms contain almond oil and there is only a very small warning for anyone with a nut allergy. This is something that should be pointed out during check-in with an alternative offered for anyone who needs it.
Had a wonderful stay very dog friendly very sweet they give your dog a free gift upon stay
The afternoon tea was amazing so was the staff. Just a few things like a mark on the walls in the room aswell as a broken desk part but overall great place to stay in by the harbour will for sure come back xx
Birthday celebration dinner and stay overnight: superb service from start to checkout, with excellent meal. Staff seemed to genuinely enjoy and to be proud to provide great service
We recently spent two nights at this fabulous hotel in a wonderful location overlooking the marina with a great atmosphere. Our room (508) was immaculate with tea/coffee making facilities and gorgeous shower gel/hand soap etc in the bathroom. The food for breakfast and evening meal was freshly cooked and delivered to your table with professionalism. From our arrival to leaving we could not fault the staff who were very friendly and helpful at all times and always with a smile on their face. We certainly received value for money and will definitely be visiting again looking forward to the new spa facilities which are opening shortly. At times it was rather noisy with the balcony doors open due to a fairground attraction quite close by which we understand was in place for the Easter weekend.
Myself and my daughter just spent one night here B&B
The atmosphere was friendly and inviting . Great staff everyone we met was so nice. The room was lovely . The breakfast fresh. cocktails very good . Service was excellent throughout .
Great email and human communication at all times from booking to leaving .
Very classy relaxed but fun place to stay with nice decor and impeccable staff.
My wife and I have just returned from a break at The Salthouse Harbour Hotel while on a coach trip. We arrived on 30th March and stayed for four nights. The hotel has recently re-opened after a two month refurb.
What a wonderful Hotel. The staff were amazing and the food, both breakfast and evening meal were served at the table. The quality of the food and it's presentation was first class. We had a room on the fifth floor overlooking the harbour and surrounding area of Ipswich. We could not find fault with anything. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are heading for Ipswich. You will not be disappointed.
We had an afternoon tea for two. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious and washed down with copious amounts of tea all at a very reasonable price. The decor is sumptuous and comfortable. The staff are professional, friendly and attentive, asking us on more than one occasion if we needed any refills. Special mention must be made of Diana who looked after us wonderfully well. Thank you.
I had the pleasure of staying in room 507 this Sunday evening and selected one of the copper rooms which far exceeded my expectations. A real copper bath too, it was delightful! This hotel oozes luxury, sophistication and a real home from home feel with timeless, quintessential interiors and real heritage to the waterfront town of Ipswich. My view from the Juliet balcony was stunning, in-fact I had to keep reminding myself I was still in the UK! Absolutely cannot wait to bring my family back here in the summer and would highly recommend. Lastly, the restaurant and bar areas are newly renovated and are outstanding with some spectacular treats on the menu, particularly loved the “fish, chips and sips”
I booked a dinner reservation. It was Sunday so roasts are on the menu. Everything was delicious and I couldn't fault it. A wonderful experience
Room overlooked harbour with a small balcony. French doors so can pull chairs for sit down view.
Ground floor being completely refurbed so lots of mess and closed to public.
We got a special rate while work going on so happy with stay.
