We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, and we really enjoyed our experience.
Our only suggestion would be to consider renovating or updating the furniture in the entrance, lobby, and elevators, as these areas feel a bit outdated compared to the rest of the hotel.
We would be happy to stay here again on our next visit, and we hope to see these improvements in the future
Location
Dated
Expensive
Terrible facilities
The hotel's location was excellent, right at the beginning of the Croisette, and the staff were great.
Elevators were slow and the hotel lobby is small compared to competing hotels.
Excellent
We have been many times before, the quality of the hotel, food, rooms and service are of a very high standard. Also the details matter, such as recognising it was our wedding anniversary through a little cake in the room. And the room cleaning teams were amazing.
On this occasion, although we knew about the lions festival we felt that this disrupted the guest experience. We were very dissatisfied that the beach club was closed, with limited space by the pool and temporary arrangements for breakfast etc. We were not made aware of this before booking and all the building work wasn’t ideal during our weekend away. Whilst we respect the importance of the festival to the hotel, our expectations of a poorer experience than normal was not managed. A real shame.
Location, room, view...
Gym untidy with weights scattered everywhere
Staff on egg station ignored queue, which already had a 15 min wait
What stood out most was the level of care and attention from the entire team, especially Lorenzo and Fiona, who went above and beyond to make our experience feel personal and seamless. Every member of staff we encountered contributed to an atmosphere of genuine warmth and professionalism.
The hotel also kindly accommodated our special request for a beautifully allocated room with a sea view, and every detail in the preparation was flawless — it made a very special occasion feel unforgettable.
From service to setting, everything felt polished, elegant, and effortlessly well-executed. We left with nothing but appreciation and would not hesitate to return.
A memorable stay in every sense.
We recently stayed at the Barrière Majestic Cannes, having previously enjoyed stays at the Barrière properties in Le Touquet and Monte Carlo.
There is much to admire about this hotel. The location is exceptional, with stunning sea views and easy walking access to Cannes' restaurants, shops, and attractions. Our room overlooking the Mediterranean was beautiful, and both the breakfast offering and dinner in the recently renovated dining room were excellent.
However, there were several aspects of our stay that fell below expectations for a hotel of this calibre and price point.
Although our room benefited from a wonderful sea view, the bathroom was surprisingly small, particularly the shower enclosure. It was the smallest hotel shower I have encountered, and it was extremely difficult to shower without water escaping onto the bathroom floor. The design appears impractical, and I would encourage management to review this issue ( or experience a shower). Removing the bath and extending the shower area could significantly improve the guest experience.
In addition, the bedroom carpet showed visible stains and appeared in need of deep cleaning or replacement. The corridor leading to our room also felt dated and tired compared with the otherwise luxurious image of the property.
Another disappointment was the pricing of the beach club sunbeds for hotel residents. The lowest rate available was €95 per person per day. As a family of four, this would have added almost €400 per day to our stay, which felt excessive given that we were already hotel guests.
Guests should also be aware that a substantial security deposit is taken at check-in on a per-room, per-night basis. This was not immediately clear to us when checking in for two rooms, and some advance communication regarding this policy would help avoid confusion.
Having experienced several Barrière properties, I would say that Le Touquet remains our preferred destination. It feels more intimate, is exceptionally well maintained, and offers a warmer overall atmosphere.
Overall, while the Majestic Cannes enjoys a magnificent location and many excellent features, there are aspects of the guest experience that could be improved to better reflect the premium rates charged.
Property was amazing, great staff, great facilities, great location
