Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa

The room was nice and loved the little doggy box. Restaurant looked very pretty. Pool is nice but super busy and couldn’t get a subbed. Only there one night.

This was a perfect getaway with clean rooms and a stunning venue. Lorenzo assisted us in choosing some special local spots for dining and exploring. Love it!

The Estancia facility is beautiful, well maintained and exudes comfort but the staff is what makes the hotel, restaurants and pool top notch! We also attended a wedding and welcome party at the venue - perfection on every level!

We stayed at Estancia for almost a week, along with family and friends, to attend a wedding there. I cannot say enough, nice things about the hotel, the staff, the service, or the event itself. It is as close to a resort experience as one could get in a city. The hotel and grounds are like nothing you see in regular hotel. The grounds are beautiful and provide opportunity to walk around and commune with nature. Although I believe the hotel is old, everything has been updated with high-quality finishes. The accommodations are roomy and the rooms overlook the beautiful grounds. There are multiple spaces to have a meal, a cocktail, and to sit in comfortable surroundings. There are multiple outdoor spaces to sit around a fire pit and read or to gather with friends. Although I was told the hotel was almost at capacity, it never felt crowded. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The location is great and it did not take long to get to other destinations. The wedding event was superb – great, space, great ambience, great food, etc.

The Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa was an exceptional place to stay. The rooms were very clean; the grounds and landscaping were beautiful. We loved the location; never had to drive more than 25 minutes to visit any of the San Diego-area sights that we wanted to see, including museums and the Zoo. Staff recommendations were spot on; when we ate at the hotel's restaurants, the food was very good. Our only complaint: the soundproofing between rooms isn't great; we could hear guests talking (even in normal speaking volumes) in rooms on either side of us. After listening to a crying baby all night in another guest's room, the hotel paid for one of our dinners and offered to move us to another room. Staff was always pleasant, friendly and responsive. Highly recommend.

The Estonia La Jolla was a fantastic stay! Our favorite part was the pool. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was exceptional! Phil our server took the best care of us. The room aesthetic was beautiful, the grounds are perfectly maintained and the overall experience was a 10 out of 10.

The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff are lovely. The room is spacious and extremely well kept. Food is delicious. Wish I could have stayed longer.

My family and I had lunch at Estancia and were fortunate to be served by Karina. Despite dining with two children under two, our experience was fantastic. The food arrived quickly, and the buffet was perfect for keeping the kids happy. Karina truly went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Thank you for a memorable lunch, we’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic stay—food and bev were on point, landscaping was breathtaking, and every staff member made me feel very welcome.

My family recently stayed at the Estancia and had a pretty frustrating experience, especially traveling with our infant.

From the start, things felt off. The front desk associate wasn’t welcoming and didn’t offer any help getting us situated with our son. Every time I went back up to ask for help, she came across dismissive and inattentive, which made it harder than it should have been to get basic support.

The biggest issue was that I had requested a pack n play two weeks in advance, and when we arrived, there wasn’t one available. Instead, we were given a dirty crib, which is unacceptable for an infant. We ended up having to leave the hotel and drive about 10 miles to buy a pack n plays (which we could have brought our home had the hotel advised they had a limited amount.

There were other issues throughout the stay as well. The hotel didn’t have enough high chairs, and the only one available was broken, which felt like a safety concern. We had to hold our son during meals. Housekeeping was also unresponsive. Our room never got cleaned despite multiple calls and texts, and glassware left outside our room sat there the entire stay.

I understand there was a wedding going on, but it really felt like the hotel was understaffed and not prepared to handle guests.

Overall, it added a lot of unnecessary stress and took away from what should have been a relaxing stay. I wouldn’t come back, especially with a young child. We travel frequently domestically and globally and this is the only hotel we have experienced this issue of adequate and clean children’s seating and bedding options.

Great facility and experience in a super nice location. We had a business retreat and it was perfect for the event. Highly recommended

We were at the Estancia La Jolla resort and spa for a wedding. The experience could not have been more perfect from check in, dining, staff and wedding execution we could not have asked for more.

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the Estancia Resort in early April 2026. As a father, it was one of the most beautiful and fulfilling experiences that I could have ever imagined for me, my wife & our daughter! Molly Lawler & Jack Lobenstein exhibited the utmost in class and service to us and all that attended! A very memorable and therapeutic experience!

Beautiful classic Santa Barbara architecture of the hotel with nicely appointed rooms. Very close to UCSD and walkable to the beach.

Did a quick, one-day stay-ca with my daughter at the Estancia. We had a great experience. The staff are warm, thoughtful, helpful, and informative. The food poolside food was very good, the spa was great, solid gym, the grounds are beautiful, and the bed was cozy! We also had a great experience visiting downtown La Jolla. I will be back!
