Great location in downtown
No parking
It was close to everything
The pull out bed was terrible, extremely uncomfortable. Ended up sleeping on floor because it was more comfortable than the pull
Out
The location was good, right in the center of town. The breakfast was very good.
The room was not clean. The bed cover had an off pudding odor.
We arrived during a heat wave and the air conditioning was a unit venting to the outside window. The duct connected to the ac was taped to the unit. Meaning that the room was knowingly rented with a broken air conditioner. The tape would fall off every 5 minutes ( even after being retaped ) blowing hot exhaust into the room. I was told I couldn't get another room, but then the ac was replaced. I was slightly compensated for our trouble, but in general poor form on the hotel's part.
We have stayed at the Hotel Elliot many times but it has lost the charm and quality it once had. The staff is poorly trained in hospitality. They could not provide any guidance for parking or issues with our room, and really didn’t care.
We stayed in the "Executive Suite 503 expecting a quiet room with no one above us. However we quickly discovered the building's HC unit located on the roof directly above our room made a vibration and noise that was obnoxious.
The room was nice and the view was good but even ear plugs would not mask the vibration and noise. I wish we had been told that your most expensive rooms came with this awful issue. I got four hours of sleep because of it. Not what I paid for.
The breakfast offerings added to the dismal experience with a pathetic excuse food. For a $467 night I felt cheated.
At checkout I got a text from a virtual assistant about my stay. I expressed my disappointment with our room and expected the hotel management to follow up. Nothing from a live person. A virtual assistant is not customer service. It is an insult and proof that the hotel does not care about hospitality.
There are many other lodging options in Astoria so I suggest you avoid Hotel Elliot if you want to get a good nights sleep and a decent breakfast.
Central location was great- we were able to walk around town easily & see many of the places that we wanted to visit. The ambience of the Hotel Elliott is historical, nostalgic, which I really like. The decor is very tasteful & comfortable- not too over- the- top. Staff is very courteous & helpful.
I'm a bit unsure about the size of the bed in the room that we stayed (401). It was advertised as a queen- sized bed, but to us, it felt smaller than queen sized (which is what we have in our bedroom at home). It was difficult for the 2 of us to turn over in the bed at the hotel, without getting into each other's space. I would recommend measuring the width of the bed/ mattress in this room, & make sure that it indeed is queen- sized. Otherwise, everything else about our stay was very good!
Location was central
Hotel is worn out. Soft bed. Smaller than a standard queen. Poor video system.
The breakfast was an unexpected delight. The hotel is old world charm updated with modern convenience. Recommend highly.
Great location, and most of the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, the carpet in my room was wet and had a strong, unpleasant smell. Staff came to dry it with towels, but it remained damp and continued to smell.
I was also disappointed that the kitchen staff refused to provide almond milk for my coffee just ten minutes after breakfast had ended, while I was still finishing my breakfast. These issues made the stay less comfortable than it should have been.
Great location, interesting historical property. Helpful staff. Rooftop access with great view.
The breakfast was free but not very good. No parking, though street parking is easy to find.
The view and staff were very nice. Old hotel charm.
There was a clump of hair left in the shower. The shower head sprayed out the top of shower and flooded behind the toilet. The AC did not work but windows opened to cool off the room nicely.
Great location, staff and wonderful room.
Great hotel, great location!
Very elegant, classy and clean.
Noisy with neighbors and outside noise
Beautiful building with lots of character
We enjoyed the historic value, the kind staff and the very good breakfast.
Location was perfect! Wonderful staff.
We would love to see the roof patio but the door was locked due to rain.
