Lovely hotel would staff again
Pros:

Very good Hotel, very clean & staff are Brilliant

Cons:

Can get a little noisy by the pool area depending on large groups, although the staff are really good at telling to keep the noise down

Check you get what you pay for...
Pros:

We booked two superior rooms for two nights. We got a very small room without space even for two suitcases whereas our companions had a large room with a very nice view. We paid the same for both rooms. Breakfast was good, location was out of town but close to the beach.

Over all a good experience.
Pros:

Rooms were nice, pool facilities were very good.

Cons:

Breakfast could have used more variety, however the omelette station was great. Pool facilities should have been open longer and the bar closed about 1.5 hours before the facilities which was annoying.

Lovely property, great location
Pros:

Loved the pool bar & terrace, location was great to take in the views on route to restaurants and has a fantastic gym.
Adults only so even better than the other options for a group of friends who want to catch up & relax & not have children screaming!

Extortionate price for a hotel that shouldn’t be 5 star

Most of the staff were friendly
Room was clean

Cons:

Firstly we arrived at 1pm to find the lifts broken. We were led through the kitchen into a service lift then bundled onto it with no explanation. We came out into a cupboard!
The room needed a complete renovation. The bathroom is so old fashioned.
Plug in the sink and bidet didn’t work
I thought that the hotel was on the beach. There is a very busy main road underpass plus 2 roads between the hotel and the beach. The photos are deceiving. The pool is not much more than a plunge pool with a very dangerous and uncomfortable stainless steel bobbled surface (why?)
It is not a beach holiday location really
This hotel should not be more than 4 star and at over €400 with no breakfast a night it’s a no from me

Una delusione totale. Un’esperienza indegna del prezzo richiesto.
Cons:

Ho soggiornato presso l’Hotel Occidental Atenea Mar di Barcellona dal 12 al 14 giugno in una camera Superior, pagando l’assurda cifra di circa 750 euro per due notti. Avevo scelto questo hotel per festeggiare il mio compleanno e trascorrere alcuni giorni speciali sul lungomare di Barcellona, città che conosco molto bene e che frequento da anni. Purtroppo il soggiorno si è trasformato in una delle peggiori esperienze alberghiere che abbia mai avuto.
Già prima della partenza avevo richiesto, per ragioni personali, un cambio della tipologia di stanza, ma mi è stato risposto con una totale mancanza di disponibilità e di attenzione verso il cliente.
All’arrivo in albergo alle ore 11:30 mi viene comunicato che il check-in sarebbe stato possibile soltanto alle 15:00. Nessuna cortesia, nessun tentativo di anticipare la consegna della camera, nonostante il costo elevatissimo del soggiorno. Ho dovuto lasciare i bagagli in deposito e trascorrere diverse ore in attesa.
Una volta entrato in camera, la delusione è stata ancora maggiore: nessuna pantofola di cortesia, minibar completamente vuoto, bagno privo di una vera doccia e dotato soltanto di una vasca con doccia incorporata. Sono dettagli che in una struttura economica potrebbero anche essere accettabili, ma che diventano semplicemente inammissibili in una camera Superior pagata oltre 350 euro a notte.
Il livello del servizio si è rivelato addirittura peggiore nell’area piscina e lounge: ordino un Bloody Mary presente nel menù e mi viene comunicato che non può essere preparato perché manca il succo di pomodoro. Un cocktail pubblicizzato e non disponibile è già un segnale di pessima organizzazione. Ripiego quindi su un Margarita e mi viene servita una bevanda che definire tale è un complimento: praticamente un sorbetto al limone con una minima quantità di alcol sul fondo del bicchiere. Un’esperienza semplicemente imbarazzante.
La mattina successiva scopro inoltre che la colazione non è compresa nel prezzo della camera.
