Nice stay
Pros:

Only stayed 1 night but would have been happy to stay longer as the hotel was lovely. Staff welcoming and room very spacious and clean. Pool area was also nice. In a good location, nice walk down to the wharf.

A modern hotel close to major roads.
Pros:

A big hotel spread over a large area. Ample parking. Room was nice but it felt dark in the room as the window was facing a corner. Staff very good. Breakfast was delicious.

Cons:

Breakfast area was too small for number of guests as there were too many going at the same time.

A great place in the heart of Monterey
Pros:

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Abrego. The rooms are modern, clean and well appointed. Special note: the bedsheets were super soft and comfortable!

There is plenty within walking distance as well.

One of our favorite amenities was the happy hour in the lobby. The staff was super friendly and tasty food options were available as well.

We’ll be back!

Clean and accessible
Pros:

Great location to alvarado street where you can find all kinds of cuisines. Not too far from the beach either. Maybe like 15 minute walk. Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The only thing is that the pool was not warm enough. Hot tub was great. And our complimentary glass of wine was delicious.

Nice hotel but overpriced for what you get
Pros:

Easily accessible rooms from the parking lot. Walking distance to a great local pizza place (Heirloom Pizza) with an awesome heated patio. Included breakfast was good (pancakes, bacon, cereals, yogurts, coffee, juice) and the hotel had indoor and outdoor seating on the patio available. Good for COVID cautious folks because rooms had exterior entry, windows that open for ventilation, outdoor pool & spa, and the breakfast and hotel bar had outdoor seating.

Cons:

Not enough outlets in the room--had to decide if we wanted the fridge, coffee maker, or lamp plugged in at one outlet. This was a minor inconvenience for us but if I had to use my laptop or charge multiple devices it would have been extremely inconvenient. Hotel was older and rooms were dark.

Monterey visit for one night.
Pros:

I booked the room and it was advertised as a deluxe queen sized bed. There was nothing deluxe about the room, and the bed was a full sized bed. There was a spot in the floor that seemed to have a hole. I rarely leave bad reviews, and I do not raise a stink with the front desk. I wish someone would have warned me in a review; I would have stayed elsewhere. Here is your warning. The next morning, I asked the front desk if the room was supposed to be a deluxe queen. She said "yes". I promptly left...

The hotel helped us out at very short notice and gave us nice spacious rooms and even discounted us when they accidentally placed us in an occupied room. I would 100% stay here again for the vibe, the location and the lovely staff. Well done, Hotel Abrego and keep it up. 🙌🏽
