Literally, the only decent thing about the resort is the location.
Very outdated. Pool area is just blah breakfast only restaurant one vending machine near the pool that does not work. Small bar that does not open until 6 PM, and does not serve food. Employees were just blah. Windows are old and thin, so there’s a lot of noise at night.
It’s very nice
Too expensive and no free parking and breakfast

location
Very good location
Très proche de la plage et situé à 2 pas du quartier animé de Waikiki.
Immeuble des années 80 non rénové. La salle du petit déjeuner est déprimante, pas de fenêtre. Allez manger à l'extérieut
What I liked most was the location. The hotel is about 150 meters from Waikiki Beach, and within just a couple of minutes you’re standing on the most famous beach on Oahu. It’s hard to beat that.
The staff was another highlight. The housekeeping team was especially wonderful — friendly, kind, responsive, and always willing to help with any request.
Most of the front desk staff were also welcoming and professional. I’d say about 90% of the employees provided excellent customer service and made a positive impression. There were a few exceptions whose service felt average at best, but they were definitely in the minority.
Overall, the combination of an excellent location and a mostly friendly, helpful staff made for a very pleasant stay.
What I didn’t like was that the reviews felt a little misleading.
I understand this is a 3-star hotel, and I travel quite a bit with my husband, so I know what a 3-star property usually looks like. Some 3-star hotels go above and beyond to exceed expectations and make your stay memorable. This is not one of them.
Waikiki Resort Hotel provides the absolute bare minimum. And I mean the bare minimum.
The rooms are very small. There is basically a large bed that takes up most of the space, and that’s about it. The hotel itself feels very dated, and the rooms are in serious need of renovation.
The pool was another disappointment. In the photos it looks much larger than it actually is. In reality, it’s quite small. Fortunately, Waikiki Beach is only a short walk away, so we spent our time there instead. Still, the difference between the photos and reality was noticeable.
Another downside is that breakfast is not included. At this price point, many hotels offer at least a basic breakfast, but here you have to pay extra.
The bathroom was surprisingly tiny. My husband and I are both average-sized people, and even we felt cramped in the shower. It was one of the smallest hotel showers I’ve ever seen.
As for amenities, once again: bare minimum. You get wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. After washing my hair twice, the conditioner was already empty.
The toilet paper deserves an honorable mention as well. Let’s just say it was not a luxury experience.
To be fair, when you’re in Hawaii, you’re probably not spending much time in your hotel room anyway. You’re there to enjoy the island, not the hotel. But even with that in mind, I believe the property is overpriced for what it offers. The rooms feel old, the facilities are basic, and the overall experience doesn’t quite match the rating or the price.
That said, credit where it’s due: the hotel was clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job, and during my stay I didn’t see a single bug or cockroach.
Good location (close to the beach)
Helpful staff
Poor wifi
The best location. Not too busy at the main road but convenient for shopping and to the beach
Easy check-in and check-out
great location
price was good for Waikiki
comfy beds
we stayed here twice, but only three nights in total
Hotel is quite dated - renovation would be in order
room and bathroom rather small
we booked kingsize beds twice but got two seperate beds each time (they say it's because I used booking.com)
Breakfast was in a strange room without windows and it was not very good
