Great value room close to CBD

Ok for one night stay
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy.

Cons:

The view from the room was towards the back of another block within the complex. This is not what was shown when we booked with Booking.com
The apartment was advertised as 4 star but overall I would rate it at 3 star+ at best

We put up with the obvious shortfalls but won't be staying there again
Pros:

It was nothing special but ok for a short stay

Cons:

No toaster in the room. We've stayed in apartments all over the world and this is the first time there hasn't been a toaster in the room. Asked reception for one but they say the don't supply them, and suggested we go to the restaurant. Surely the lack of a toaster isn't being used to get guests to eat breakfast in their restaurant. If so, it didn't work with us.
Also reported heaps of bird poo on the balcony, much of which looked to have been there a long time. The guy at reception said he would get it cleaned, but they only cleaned the fresh poo. There was also hornets' nests in the balcony roof and some parts of the balcony were covered in black soot. Disgraceful. As for first impressions, there was no floor covering in the lift.

North Cairns accommodation
Pros:

Location was perfect.. we do like the North of Cairns and the accommodation was close to the water, Palm Cove and Kuranda.

The front reception staff were lovely. Very helpful and clear with directions.

Cons:

Noise from water pipes at night sometimes. Maybe when other guests were showering.

Extremely expensive budget classed hotel.
Pros:

Cleaning staff very accomodating.

Cons:

No internet to speak of. Constantly dropping out with speeds less than 5mbps.
Website pictures depicted the property in a much better light than it actually was.
Door security rather light without deadbolts.

Wished we had a longer stay as really thought it covered everything I needed

Great value for families
Pros:

I liked the fact that it was self contained , clean, comfortable beds and had two pools and a $25 fare from the airport. The room was cleaned daily and we had a downstairs room with a beautiful garden you could walk out onto.

Cons:

The twin room bed room door would not close unless you moved the bed slightly. We just left the bedroom door slightly open.

Clean and quiet
Pros:

Very helpful friendly staff. Good beds and pillows, very nice towels. Spacious (we had a 1 bedroom apartment) and clean though there was a musty smell in the room after it was left closed up for a while. A very quiet apartment.

Cons:

Breakfast (not included in our room cost) was expensive for what it cost. Fairly minimal supplies (tea, coffee, etc). The hotel is quite a way from the main part of town - difficult if you don't have a car.
