Expectations not met..
Pros:

Checking-in was easy.
The room was spacious

Cons:

Not enough ventilation, which makes rooms stuffy.
The shower over bath is a bad idea
The room is large enough, I wish it had a mini bar and microwave.

Food was basic for a Southern Sun hotel. The dinner buffet is terrible. Not worth the price.

Some of the staff members need training on hospitality, don't just employ without training.

Pros:

The staff were excellent and did what they could, but the smell in the rooms and passages was simply unacceptable. It felt as though the carpets or flooring needed a deep clean or replacement. I hope management addresses this issue because the unpleasant odour overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable stay.

Cons:

Our first room had a very strong, damp, musty smell, so we asked reception if we could move. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they changed our room without any issues. Unfortunately, the second room smelled exactly the same.

The next morning, as the cleaners opened the room doors and guests were checking out, the smell throughout the passage became even stronger. It was overwhelming. By then my nose was completely blocked, and I felt nauseous and even vomited during our drive home.

I would like to extend my sincere compliments to the entire chef and kitchen staff of **Southern Sun Hazyview**.

Having stayed at many Southern Sun hotels across the country, I can confidently say that the culinary team at Southern Sun Hazyview is exceptional. Every meal during my stay from **7 to 10 June 2026** was outstanding. What impressed me most was the consistency and quality of the food. There was never a need to "cross fingers" when choosing from the menu – whatever I selected was always prepared to perfection and exceeded expectations.

The chefs deserve special recognition for their dedication, creativity, and commitment to excellence. Their work made my stay even more memorable.

Thank you to the entire team for consistently delivering such high standards. Please keep up the excellent work. You are truly among the best, and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

The fact that there's was no bar fridge in the room,where my sister slept phone was not working,my mirrors had black spots which looked like hair dye,there was no one to help us with the luggage.
