Amazing views, very comfortable room, everything a little dated in the room otherwise, lovely dinner
Excellent location with amazing view and superb staff.
The room felt tired and in need of refurbishment. The furniture was dated and damaged, there was a musty smell, and the bed was too soft for us. There was also noise from people drinking on the terrace until late. At £319 for the night, we were certainly paying for the view. Without that, it would have felt hard to justify the cost, especially as the off-season would seem the ideal time to make some upgrades.
Clean, comfortable and quiet room with good curtains to cut out light during summer months.
Amazing view, helped by gloriously hot weather.
Good breakfast
Sadly the menu let this hotel down. It was very limited.
Also the service at the bar was slow and the staff seemed very stressed, particularly on the bank holiday. Clearly they needed more staff on duty.
Booked restaurant for my wife's birthday, we checked the menu (note : not a sample menu). It had John Dory fillets, Prawn and Scallops, Mussels, all of which we would have liked. On arrival we were told that one of the chefs had just walked out and that they could only cater for 15 guests, but as we had booked all was fine. We had a drink and enjoyed the fabulous views. Once seated and ready to order we were disappointed to see that all the things we liked were not on the menu, we asked about the John Dorey and were told that whilst that was on the online site they had not used that menu for 5 Years. The only 2 fish courses were smoked haddock and scallop risotto with a poached egg or fish and chips. I decided on the risotto but after a few minutes we were informed that they had swapped the smoked haddock for salmon. In the end we ended up with a Chicken burger and Belly of pork. We waited for the wine only to be presented with one we didnt order and on querying this, were told that they had sold out of the wine we wanted. we ordered a drink to be taken on the terrace to see the sunset, which we had to chase up twice from the bar before it turned up ? We made the best of it but it was hardly what we had imagined as a 'special' meal other than the price which was over £130, with return taxi fares nearly £60 made it very expensive for food we didnt really want and wine that wasnt our choice. Other diners, not the "lucky" 15, were allowed to sent out for takeaways !!
Even given that they had just lost a chef the whole set up seemed to be under managed and too few staff. The hotel and restaurant needed attention and money spending on it and definitely passed its sell by date
I would recommend it for a sunset drink but stay away fro the food.
Most things were great.
The bedroom walls were paper thin. Could hear everything in the room next door.
Traditional breakfast was good, fruit selection for those who enjoy something more healthy. We had a room with a balcony and the view was breath taking.
Some of the room decor is getting a little old, and there was limited availability in the restaurant on our second night, thought the BBQ was very good.
We had a beautiful view from the balcony; the room was large and light. All of the staff that we met were lovely and really friendly.
The room itself was tired, and if honest needs completely renovating. it also had that damp smell that can be a little unpleasant. Breakfast was possibly the worse we have ever had in any hotel throughout the world, not even displayed nicely cheap plus little choice.
Sehr gutes Frühstück und tolle Betten
Our room had a great view
Room a bit dated
Good location
Nothing really
Lovely views over Poole Harbour and very friendly and attentive staff
Room, while clean was small and in need of a refurb.
Breakfast was good. Room spacious. Staff friendly.
Fridge had a leftover bottle of wine. Room smelled of aftershave.
Room seemed to have been recently updated, very nice. Views are brilliant. Easy parking. Room was quiet .
