As a diamond Accor member I expected a lot more from this hotel. The reviews and pictures looked much better than in person. We spent 4 nights in 2 rooms (1 suite & 1 regular room). Positives: it was nice coming from Berlin on the train that you can walk in a few minutes to the hotel. They have a really nice sauna and a strangely shaped pool, neither of which were crowded. Also a shout out to the wonderful gentleman who seats you each morning for breakfast. Negatives: The hotel is clearly dated and in need of a refresh. The suite felt super humid with the AC on, hopefully no mold, but both rooms were dusty and clearly were just spot cleaned each day as you can find dirt build up in corners, etc. The front desk staff was extremely hit or miss, some great, others just totally aloof. I was waiting in line at the front desk and there were 2 staff just chatting behind the desk while there were 3 or 4 people in line, then another time, when i was waiting, the guy at the desk took a second to peak behind the door and ask someone to come out and help. Overall, the very hit or miss service needs to be worked on. Finally, there was front desk when you walked in for a large group of Chinese visitors, almost a hotel within a hotel. Breakfast was a mess for 3 of our 4 days with this group just cutting in line or conducting calls on their speakerphones at the breakfast table. Again, had we known about some of these issues, I never would have stayed here. Overall, extremely disappointing and would look elsewhere if in Munich
Le confort
Le personnel ne parle pas francais
location was not that good , never had breakfast there. no help for luggage
Room was too small n congested
Nothing was good
Ruhige, gediegene Oase in zentralster Lage
Personal sehr zuvorkommend, der Service entsprechend
Frühstück ist kein Preis-Leistungs-Schnäppchen
Super Personal freundlich und Angenehmer Umgang.
Preise des Parking. Teurer als in Zürich Stadt.
Absolut überrissen.
Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted and oriented about the hotel. All of the staff were superb, from the door men to the reception. One of the IRD staff was really ecstatic when he found out I was watching the DFB-Pokal final. Reception was really helpful, instructing me about the hotel, the breakfast area and booking me an airport transfer (had a delicate package that was hard to carry through the S-Bahn)
The room was great. It was clean, maintained, had some scuffs here and there but had a certain wow effect for me. The space design was okay for me, there was a place for everything I had. The closet and drawer spaces were very generous. The T&B was a new experience for me, with the heated floors, and it was kept clean and sanitized during my stay. Water pressure and temperature was easy to adjust and you can drink from the tap.
They really made good use of the small spaces in the hotel, which was very nice. The rocking chair and the swivel chair were a good touch. There was also a proper desk and chair. My two gripes about the room, the lighting contributed to the heat inside the room and the AC was somehow weak. I meant it that it took a while to cool the room but not really cool. I found that the corridor and the lobby were cooler than my room.
Food was also great! Breakfast choices were superb and the egg station is a big plus for me. Not a fault of the dining staff but they were overwhelmed one morning as a large Asian contingent and other hotel guests ran out of plates; but I think they rebounded. Tried the IRD and it was priced reasonably and my burger, schnitzel and Crème brûlée tasted great on separate times. Delivery time was always between 15-20mins and food came to your room warm.
The location of the hotel was also helpful. No need to mention its very close and famous neighbor, ha! About a 20-25min tourist stroll you’re in Marienplatz already. This made my self-walking tour easier and just took a taxi back when I got tired at the Munich Residence.
All in all, a good impression was made for my first stay in a 5-star Accor property. Should I find myself back in Munich, I’d love to stay again here.
The room we were in was too dark ! Nit enough lighting
Centraal gelegen, zeer vriendelijk personeel. Fijne kamer en heerlijk gegeten
Comfortable modern hotel; helpful porter and concierge. Very convenient for DKF conference
Area around main station is awaiting gentrification, but the area is being rebuilt
Sehr schönes, elegantes Hotel direkt beim Bahnhof.
Der Bahnhof wird zur Zeit neugebaut, chaotischer Verkehr.
The staff was friendly and welcoming
It’s more of a 3-4 star hotel. The rooms don’t seem to be maintained well. The sink handle came off, there was no tissues in the boxes, the elevator was so loud and heard from our room, the windows were blocked with black stickers, and the AC air seemed to be very dusty. Not the greatest.
Lage , Ambiente , Freundlichkeit, morgens Kaffee auf der Terasse außen
