Amazing historic hotel, but unbearably hot!

Hôtel Abbaye de Maizières is a really special hotel. The location is fantastic, the building is beautiful and historic, and it’s full of quirky little features that give it loads of character. The staff were also genuinely friendly and welcoming. They are welcoming to dogs too. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, while very historic in style, was lovely.

Unfortunately, the heat in the room completely ruined the experience for us. It was honestly the hottest hotel room we have ever stayed in and none of us (we had 2 rooms) slept at all. There was an old air-conditioning unit, but it was almost useless, and the fan in the room was broken.

Such a shame, because everything else about the hotel was excellent and we really wanted to love it. With effective air conditioning, this could easily have been a 5-star stay.

Emplacement extraordinaire pour aller visiter Beaune, ruelles et bâtiments historiques à quelques pas, établissement atypique rempli de charmes, personnel au top, chambres spacieuses et confortables, la piscine sous les voûtes est un plus, petit déjeuners copieux et délicieux.

A refaire avec un séjour un peu plus long pour profiter de la piscine et visiter le cœur de la ville
Pros:

l'hôtel se trouve au cœur du centre ville et à 2 pas du marché le samedi matin. En revanche, pour garer la voiture il faut aller au parking de la bibliothèque.
La chambre très agréable avec un grand lit , nous avons très bien dormi.
Nous avons pris le petit déjeuner dans la grande salle de l'abbaye, endroit impressionnant par son architecture.

Cons:

les pavés , pas facile de se déplacer en talons, prévoir des talons plats
