It was close to all amenities, welcoming and clean.
Staff very approachable and friendly. This was a gift from my mum for our birthday’s and to see Metallica. A great family weekend.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the check in was very smooth. The lady who checked us in explained the hotel facilities and breakfast times. The hotel reception area is clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The air con was very efficient which was a massive plus. The cooked breakfast was fresh and the chap cooking it was onve again very friendly and did the best he could to keep up with demand. The food quality was fine. To be fair I've read reviews slating the staff but we found them to be very welcoming and did their best with a hotel that lacks modernisation.
The corridors and rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade, they look tired and run down. The room itself was nice and big but the windows needed a good clean. The carpet was stained and in places did not meet the walls due to age and the decor was in need of a refresh. The bathroom light switch needed replacing because the switch itself was faulty. However we needed a bed for the night because we were in Cardiff for the Metallica concert and had read the reviews so knew what to expect.
The hotel was very clean and welcoming. Slept really well
We had a lovely view, bed was comfortable, also very quiet.
The view of the city, the bath was also good.

We had to change room as original room had no working air conditioning.
Hotel rooms were a bit sad and shabby.
Staff hard working but very busy. Too busy to make us feel anything other than a burden.
Very over priced for standard of service received.

It wasn't something I didn't like it was just the kettle didn't work. I could have asked for another one so only a minor detail.
