Sad experience and not just because of a memorial.
Pros:

It's close to the beach but not worth the cost of the hotel.

Cons:

The handicap room 113 to tiny. Couldn't fit the wheelchair in the room with luggage. Ordered a different room so there was enough room for the chair.
The staff was originally nice at check in but after that she was rude and short to my family. I ordered 4 rooms. I will not spend $3,600 at this hotel again.

The most amazing place to stay with a view

This is a fantastic hotel if you have dogs and want to visit the famous Ocean Beach Dog Beach.
Pros:

We loved the location of the hotel. The beach was right across the street and multiple restaurants were within easy walking distance. We also liked the free parking for guests, the fact that they are "dog friendly" and the main Dog Beach wasn't that far away. It was a great stay and we're already planning a return visit.

Cons:

The only complaint we had, and it's a minor one, is that the bed and pillows were a little softer than we would have liked.
