Budget Hotel so value for money but room disappointing
Pros:

Staff helpful and friendly. Car Park reasonably priced. Location good. Bathrooms good and big TV.

Cons:

First room allocated had no windows other than frosted window in bathroom. Moved to another room but again windows mostly frosted and could not open. Both of these standard double rooms were part below ground level and smelt musty. Bed mattress was thin and duvet cover had a burn hole in it.

Smell of smoke in bedroom. We did not report this as we did not believe staff would have been able to do anything about it. Breakfast was disappointing, not a great deal of choice and certain aspects of the cooked breakfast could have been better. Also, when we tried to make a booking for an evening meal at the hotel's restaurant upon arrival, we were told that they could not make the booking at that point as they were having a large table of restaurant guests to deal with that evening and suggested we just turn up later to see if we could be fitted in. We decided to try and book online and made a booking straightaway, so did not understand why reception could not have taken the booking when we asked?

Great hotel.
Pros:

Location was good for me. Clean, comfortable, big room, very comfortable bed, quiet, coffee & tea in room. Welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful staff.

Cons:

Decor a little tired in places, if I am being picky.

Big room, comfortable bed, good shower.

Genuine hospitality! Clean, safe, obliging
Pros:

Some of the nicest staff I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. Everyone -- desk, restaurant, floor manager -- was calm, soft-spoken, responsive, and offered the proverbial small extra solutions that you don't hope to find. When I needed to scan a printout for a deadline, the lads on the desk immediately helped out. My last day, there was a logistics kerfuffle, and they actually offered me a late check-out so that I could make a Zoom call after all. In an age of declining service, THIS is real hospitality. I also note how spotlessly clean everything was. The restaurant has a food hygiene score of 5 (the best). Delicious biryanis too.

Cons:

So some of the furnishings were a bit old, but really this is a minor issue. It's not the Waldorf, and it doesn't have to be. Considering the location and the attentiveness, it's really good value for money.
