On the beach but with caveats
Pros:

Location is right on the beach

Cons:

The party noise. Have to call in to get the room cleaned; Not as nice as I thought for almost $500 a night

In my experience, traveling with my family was awful, not worth it. The hotel is very old, the mattress is uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the common areas was very poor. We saw a cockroach in the common area, near the entrance to the room. The lighting in the stairwell area was poor. The staff was inattentive to us. Parking is expensive. There is free parking in front of the hotel, and when I found out, I requested a refund immediately. The refund took more than 10 days and only happened because I opened a case with Booking (I called several times and it wasn't resolved). It was the first hotel on a trip through California, and this was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in in recent years. It wasn't worth the cost-benefit. There are much better places to stay with family in the area, which was my case. There's a restaurant with loud music next door that was open until the early hours of the morning. That was my experience.

Great staff and on the beach.
Pros:

The staff are great. Rafa and Alex provided a great and early check in. The location is amazing. Right in the beach and within walking distance of food and shops.

I’m very grateful for Rafa’s hospitality and professionalism. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The service was exceptional, warm, and personal — it truly felt like being with family rather than staying somewhere away from home.

Rafa went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and would happily return again. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Year after year, always wonderful!
Pros:

We keep coming back year after year. Always a wonderful experience. Clean, comfortable and right in the middle of where we need to be for all the action of Pacific Beach. Front desk staff are the best, Umit and Hunter make the experience flawless.
