Very nice stay
Pros:

Perfect spot with a great view.

Cons:

I booked a room with terrace thinking i would have a view and i had a view of nothing really so never went out. Be careful if this and be sure your terrace view is in the back of hotel facing the ocean or not worth it.

Foi perfeito para nossa lua de mel.
Pros:

O hotel é simplesmente lindo, com uma vista indescritível. Muito limpo, organizado, e funcionários extremamente cordiais.
A acomodação é muito confortável. O café da manhã é muito diversificado e muito bom!

Cons:

As únicas ressalvas são quanto ao Wi-Fi, que não pegava bem, e sobre não ter canais de TV no quarto que passasse os jogos da Copa (mas os jogos passavam em um dos bares do hotel)

Grandioos fijne vakantie plek!
Pros:

Dat uitzicht! Grandioos mooi gelegen, groots opgezet en licht interieur en fijn personeel. De spa en gym zijn klein maar fijn. Ontbijt is geweldig en het restaurant is met dat uitzicht met een ondergaande zon en heerlijk eten echt een aanrader. Gelegen op loopafstand van restaurant en cafés.

Cons:

Een beetje klein zwembad voor z’n groot complex. Maar daarom bouwen ze geloof ik een een nieuw zwembad erbij.

We did enjoy staying at the hotel overall.

Great location, beautiful hotel with unbelievable views.

Cons:

The stuff especially during the breakfast buffet. Gentleman, who was mostly a host during that time, didn’t even listened to what I was saying to him. I wasn’t done with my sentence when he would move on to the next person in line. Very rude and condescending. During the buffet it was problematic to get a simple coffee refill. Stuff member would come to the table next to us and would refill just their coffee without asking any tables around if anyone else needed refill too. One time I had to go to the stuff station to do it myself after waiting for 10+ minutes. Stuff walks by people that are having breakfast without giving eye contact, like they don’t even see you or don’t want to see you to provide any attention. After the table was assigned to us, we left to get food, someone else sat at our table so we had to look for another table with plates in hand. It’s quite an unorganized mess during breakfast buffet. All this should not happen at 5 Star hotel.

De tudo, adoro este hotel e já lá vou a mais de vinte anos, adorei terem o serviço de tuk tuk para as praias e para o centro do carvoeiro

Cons:

Do que mais gosto do hotel e a linda vista para o mar, pago mais caro por essa vista, e depois tenho vista para uma obra, sem terem o respeito de avisar quem paga mais pela vista. Fiquei muito desesperada, mesmo sabendo que e uma obra necessária podiam ter avisado

Once a great hotel, struggling now

Great view and location! Truly magnificent.

Cons:

Construction work happening on the hotel gardens (heavy machinery), reparations happening on the hallways that left toxic glue and chemical smells in the air and made staying in the room practically impossible. Broken exhaust fan in the bathroom made the room always damp.

Huge Disappointment
Pros:


I would like to begin by acknowledging that the hotel staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, this was the only positive aspect of what was otherwise a very disappointing experience.

Misleading “beachfront” advertising – The hotel is marketed as beachfront; however, there is currently no beach access due to a significant rockfall that has completely washed it away. This is not disclosed anywhere, despite promotional materials continuing to show beach imagery.

Ongoing construction works – There is a construction site directly beside the pool area, with constant noise from diggers, hammering, and angle grinders from approximately 7am to 9pm daily. This is clearly a long-term project, yet we were not informed at any stage prior to arrival, despite booking six months in advance.

Incorrect room allocation – We paid a premium for a junior suite but were initially placed in a much smaller room overlooking the construction site. While this was eventually rectified, it should not have happened.

Accessibility concerns – The town centre is located down a very steep hill, making it unsuitable for anyone with mobility or walking difficulties.

Pool area quality – The pool facilities are not reflective of a 5-star standard. The sunbeds are particularly uncomfortable.

Breakfast offering – Breakfast is acceptable but very basic compared to other 5-star hotels.

Cleanliness issues – There were persistent problems with ants and flies entering the room, regardless of cleanliness.

Unpleasant odours – Strong drain smells regularly drifted up from the construction site to the balconies.

Location and access – The hotel fronts onto a dirt road, and a car is essential to get anywhere. Additionally, local car hire companies require deposits of up to €2,500 for small vehicles.

Lack of amenities – There is little or no entertainment provided within the hotel day and night.

Outdated interiors – Hallways, lifts, and carpets are noticeably worn and in need of refurbishment.

Poor room design – The glass partition between the bedroom, living area, and bathroom is impractical and lacks privacy, even with a blind.

Refund refusal – We paid €5,600 for a 9-night stay, which is significantly higher than comparable Tivoli properties. Due to a family illness, we had to leave three days early and requested a refund of €1,900. This was refused, and instead we were offered a credit note for the same hotel, valid for one year. Given the experience outlined above, returning is not a realistic option.

It is also worth noting that this hotel operates as a franchise and is not owned by the Tivoli Group. As a result, any complaints cannot be escalated to the wider group and must be handled locally. Unfortunately, the local management was neither helpful nor understanding.

Overall, based on the price, location, standard, and level of customer service, I would not recommend this hotel.

One front desk person was very abrupt in the way she responded to my question. Her manner was cold. During our 4 day stay, she clearly avoided me when I approached the front desk.

Nice hotel with great location and fantastic views!
Pros:

Great location with a fantastic public beach nearby called Centeanes. Amazing cliff views and nice deep pool.
