Good stay but perplexed by the cooking fee
Pros:

This was our second stay at EMA, the first stay having been a number of years ago. The location is superb, and it was great to have air-conditioning during the heat wave.

The one unpleasant surprise, however, was being informed that there was a kitchen usage fee of Fr.25 per day if we wanted to cook in the apartment. It was strange that we had not been informed of this at the time of booking, as one would normally expect to be able to use the kitchen in an apartment that is fitted out with the kitchen. That was certainly the case when we previously stayed at this hotel. When we checked in this time, we were told that the fee was just for use of the stove and that we would still have access to plates and utensils. After we entered the unit, however, we found that the cupboard containing plates and the drawer containing cutlery were locked. We pointed this out to the front desk, and someone came up and unlocked the utensil drawer, but did not give us access to all the plates. The next day, however, housekeeping did open the cupboard that included the plates, so we were able to eat the cold food we bought at the grocery store.

In short, the rather hefty daily kitchen usage fee was a disappointing change from our previous stay.

Aside from that odd fee, we enjoyed the stay and the service was very good once we had access to some basic utensils and plates.

A soft spot to land

EMA House was the perfect place for us whilst staying in Zurich... Clean ,quiet,..The service was Fab plus it was right across from the tramline..Its an easy walk into the old town .
