Location was good. All the required facilities were in the complex.
The location and choice of restaurants
Irritating that the EV charging was closest to the rooms which took up several bays and the only parking was down the bottom of the hill
The view was beautiful
The room felt dated and it had scuff marks on the bathroom walls. The bathroom felt dated, with mould in the tiles and silicone. The rainwater shower head was gross, it needed a good clean or better yet replaced. The towels and bedding need to be better quaility and there is no hand towel. The whole room and bathroom need updating, the carpet needs to go and the room and bathroom need fresh paint. Wooden hybrid floors with a rug would be far more practical, modern and clean and would add ambience to the room. The furniture styling was quite nice but its showing signs of wear and the mattress was really uncomfortable. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was updated. Its just not a room you could relax in. We also had dinner in the restaurant, the food was average bar the salmon sashimi and Rick Stein wine, it was over priced for the quality and flavour. The staff were lovely at the hotel and the restaurant.
I had a wonderful stay at this property. The place was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the host was friendly and responsive throughout my visit. The pool area was relaxing and beautifully kept, the restaurant served delicious meals, and the staff were professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. Great location and overall a very pleasant experience.
Only minor things such as the toilet brush and toilet door need attention.
The pool is amazing, food was great
We paid extra for a sea view room which turned out to be ground level with a glimpse of water. When asked staff to change, they were not very helpful
Amenities & pool area
Room was quite dated, needed some TLC
Rick Steins restaurant was as usual brilliant and the food wonderful ---- the pool area was also very good
The room needs refurbishment. We have stayed at the Mollymook and Cornwall versions of Rick Steins establishments and this one needs to be updated in order to match those.
The staff were great at reception and at the poolside.
We loved the decor, etc. Around the lobby and pool and felt relaxed and well looked after.
The room had an overused smell about it as if it has been cleaned in a hurry, which was unpleasant.
The pillows were all hard, which for my partner was remarkably uncomfortable(my mistake was not to have asked at reception on her behalf for a change of pillows)
My biggest concern was probably the Bannister’s restaurant which was a poor quality especially for its high price. Because we’re eating on a public holiday the lobster fettuccine which I had was far too salty and the lobster had been overcooked and no doubt sitting around for too long before coming to the table I would’ve mentioned something to the kitchen but as my partner wished to pay for the meal, I felt it inappropriate to mention. The staff in the restaurant were great and attentive however behind the bar sounded like a bull in a China shop.
Fantastic location, great views, rooms and pool
Couldn’t find any faults.
Excellent location, very friendly staff & clean .
We had an ant problem in our bathroom .
Location, friendly staff, great pool and staff.
Found cochroach in room
On check in the lovely staff member happily found us a better room for a very good rate. We contacted room service at one time and the staff were so accomodating. Nothing was a problem and their response was immediate.
On this trip, everything did seem a lot more expensive. We realise that current ecconomic times dictate this but as a couple of half retired / half part time work, we would be conservative on our next booking.
