Please note that all guests, adults and children, staying at the property must show a valid identity card or passport with photo, or equivalent document (e.g. birth certificate). Gala dinners on the 24th and on the 31st December are mandatory when booking half-board. The price of the gala dinner on the 24th is EUR 185 per person. The price on the 31st is EUR 225 per person.

Half Board costs 50 euros per person/night—consists of a set menu with 3 courses changed every day (starter, main course and dessert). Children under age 16 are not allowed in the Health Club and Spa facilities.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Grosszügige Anlage mit spezieller Architektur
Pros:

- Sehr schöne, grosszügige Anlage mit scjöner Bepflanzung sowie vielen Blumen.
- Zwei attraktive Poolbereiche sowie ein Whirpool mit ausreichend Liegen und zahlreichen Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen.
- Das spezielle Design und die Architektur des Hotels verleihen ihm einen einzigartigen Charakter, sind jedoch Geschmackssache.

Cons:

- Die Zimmer sind gepflegt, wirken jedoch teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
- Das Frühstück ist solide, bietet jedoch keine besonderen Highlights. Der Frühstücksbereich wirkt insbesondere zu den Stosszeiten etwas eng und hektisch.

Nice - much better than huge high rise concrete hotels visible everywhere!
Pros:

The gardens are beautiful and the hotel feels like an oasis within busy Funchal. Service was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. However, because Funchal is so busy/crowded the property is surrounded by roads, and traffic noise was more noticeable than we expected for a hotel marketed as a peaceful retreat. Indeed the sound of roadworks and building nearby was noticeable. It's also funny that access to the Quinta is from the northwest (guests can't even use the drive of the old house) which is the "wrong side" for the City centre, so there's a fair bit of walking up and down hills.

The hotel’s Green Key credentials and beautiful gardens are impressive, but some of the sustainability practices were inconsistent during our stay. The bathroom notices asked guests to leave towels in the bath only if they wished them to be replaced, yet towels and flannels left hanging were frequently changed anyway. We also saw no obvious provision for guest recycling or waste separation. Neither issue spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay, but they did seem at odds with the environmental messaging.

Odd too that the bells to call for refreshments at the pool were intermittent at best.

A wonderful experience!
Pros:

A wonderful stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept and the exotic trees and plants clearly labeled. The swimming pool was well kept and very welcome in the warm weather. The food in the restaurant was delicious and very varied. A highly recommended hotel!

Etwas Besonderes
Pros:

Die relativ zentrale, aber dennoch ruhige Lage. Der wunderschöne, weitläufige und gepflegte Garten. Das üppige Frühstück. Parkplätze auf dem Gelände. Die große Terrasse am Zimmer zum Garten. Die gesamte Gestaltung der Anlage. Das gute Restaurant, in dem man sowohl Mittag als als auch Abends vorzüglich speisen kann.

Cons:

Das Hotel wirkt trotz des Mid-Century-Charms deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, eine Renovierung der Gebäude im Haupttrakt wäre angebracht.

Our sixth stay in ten years - heaven!
Pros:

We just had our sixth holiday at the wonderful hotel on Madeira. Thhe staff are fantastic and ensure a relaxed holiday for all. The hotel is an oasis and a 30 minute walk from central Funchal. It's a great place to relax and unwind and also a great location from which to explore the rest of the island. Bus transport is excellent and provides an option to renting a car or taking a taxi.
The hotel places emphasis on wellbeing and has a spa and pools as well as options for massage and other therapies.
Restaurants in the hotel include and informal terrace as well as a Michelin starred restaurant. There are plenty of local resaurants where locals eat so don't be afraid to try out their authentic dishes.
We may well be drawn back again in the future - I hope so.

Pros:

Lage im Park, Ambiente, Zimmer ok - aber Größe am unteren Limit zum Preis, Terrasse, Restaurant nettes und Preis ok.

Cons:

Frühstück sehr beengt, wenig Plätze auf der Terrasse, zeitweise ab 10.15 war das Buffet ziemlich leer. Badezimmer in die Jahre gekommen.

Eine beeindruckende Anlage alles gut Organisiert äußerst zuvorkommend.

Cons:

Leider hatten wir Schwierigkeiten unser Zimmer warm zu bekommen. Ansonsten war alles vorhanden und darüber hinaus.
