Spotless room, not the biggest but adequate. An older but well run hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at The Kings Arms Lancaster; overall, it was an average experience. The accommodation met our expectations and provided a comfortable visit. However, the breakfast did not meet the same standard, and I would recommend that management consider improvements in this area to enhance the overall guest experience.
Friendly staff and smooth check in. The location is excellent and you can walk everywhere. The street below is noisy and we had to shut the windows despite the heat.
Loved the location, friendly welcome , well presented , gorgeous , spacious room , onsite parking us a bonus (didn’t use it) will definitely look to stay here again now I know there is parking , great room facilities
Second time I have stayed in this hotel situated very centrally in the town. I hope it prospers and can reclaim some of the area on the ground floor which is now vacant but looks as if it once was part of the hotel
The hotel has lots of history and is in the perfect location for everything in the city centre. Our room was small, hot and noisy with the window open (front of the hotel above the main entrance). Ask for rooms at the back of the hotel for a quieter night.
The room was amazing, the staff were very kind and helpful.
The breakfast could have been better.
We liked the short distance from the railway station & shops. We didnt like how the door was difficult to lock. We also think arrangements for brealkfast should be stated @ the beginning of your stay as on our first morning we ended up with a cold brealfast from the buffet which we later foubd out had been set out since 5.30a.m. in the morning!!. We also later found out that you had to order your breakfast when you needed it.On a brighter note the staff were brilliant & couldnt have been more helpful & pleasant. There was a very noisy rock group on @ the pub across the way so we were grateful that they stopoed playing @ 10.30p.m. All in all not a bad place to stay.
Good location. Rooms in need of some upgrade, but ok for the price. Breakfast was mental! Not booked but they found us a table. Service was so slow it took 1 hour to bring the food. Lady on the next table walked out and one of our guests had wolf down the food and run for his train. It can’t be that hard can it?
Otherwise the hotel was fine. WiFi good. Some parking nearby but had to pay. Close to station.
great friendly staff and nice lobby
Excellent
Very quirky hotel that has captured all the best bits of accommodation from 50 years ago and brought in all we’d expect in 2025
Beautiful hotel close to lancaster train station. Lovely clean room and good breakfast. The lift was fun!
Clean room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Short walk to rail station
Great location. Right in the centre, opposite the castle and near the railway station.
Staff were great.
Needs a bit of an update and is an old building, but really pleasant stay.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, the beds a little soft for me but thats personal preference. The breakfast was good. The hotel is within walking distance of the train stations which was excellent.
We stayed in a suite and were disappointed with the service and the room amenities for a ‘luxury room’. Will be taking this up with management to enable them to have a chance to address our issues rather than doing this via a review. If staying in a basic room our stay may have felt better as the hotel looks lovely and is very conveniently located.
Staff on site were polite and friendly but poor at addressing issues when raised in terms of their approach (no apologies just ‘well that’s how it is’ attitude).
I wouldn’t stay not to stay here but personally we would give another property a go as our stay wasn’t good enough to warrant a repeat visit.
Walking distance from Rail station
Seems to have its dining room and other normal ground floor amenities somewhere over the years but being centrally located this is no problem. It does offer a bistro and hot meals throughout the day but not quite what you would expect of a hotel of this size.
However, no complaints and I will be staying again
A lovely stay all-around!
