Weak Marriott Bonvoy Benefits
Pros:

This hotel only has 6 suites out of 200 rooms so for people who value suite upgrades it would normally not be a great fit; luxury hotels in Marriott chain normally have far more suites.  Consequently I did not expect a suite but I was surprised they did not even upgrade +1 to a mountain view room; we had a view of a construction site, which is not very impressive for Bonvoy Ambassador Elite.  At least the room looked good and recently renovated, although a bit boring in style.

When the upgrade is poor then one thing that remains to wow us in terms of elite benefits can be breakfast.  The menu was nice and the food was tasty but there was a limit of 40 USD as the Platinum (and higher) benefit - for a couple this limit is even more aggressive than the low-ball 50 USD that Hilton luxury hotels give in the U.S. for Diamond guests. I am not aware that Marriott chain hotels are supposed to have any limit, let alone such a low limit.

One concept that stood out at this hotel was the "butlery" available on each floor to refill water and also a bowl of snacks for guests to pick.

Overall I felt lukewarm about this hotel. I was not impressed enough to return but there was nothing glaringly bad either.

Construction and room assignment issues
Pros:

Construction blocks the mountain view and adds chaos and noise at entry. Beautiful lobby, nice rooms. Top notch professionalism from staff from valet to front desk to servers. However, we were not informed at reservation of construction immediately across the street and on cross street. Mountain view rooms will be blocked by view of the construction which is active during business hours, M-F. Room request lead to 4+ hour delay of room key. Still waiting actually. Lobby is hoping as of 4pm, Friday. Staff is great, rooms are as expected with proper high-end materials. Room assignment is poor. Not informing guests of construction and impacts is a no-no.

Buyer Beware.
Pros:

People were nice, but prices are misleading. We booked through website at one price and then when we checked in they raised the rate because they said their occupancy was higher! Need to honor original rates offered online.

I had a stay booked for two weeks later, but I cancelled and went with a Hilton branded hotel

Wow to Lauren!
Pros:

For the past two years, I have been staying at hotel clio at least every 4 to 5 weeks for a few nights, as my daughter lives in Denver. Every time the whole staff goes above and beyond. However, one wonderful young lady stands out more than anyone else.; Lauren Mcgurie. She is wonderful, helpful, kind, the level of hospitality she provides makes me not ever want to stay in any other hotel when I come to Denver. This time, we also had my daughter’s graduation party at the hotel and it couldn’t have gone smoother and better. I truly hope that your establishment recognizes Lauren as an outstanding asset. What a fabulous young lady.

Lovely weekend in Cherry Creek
Pros:

Great location. Rooms are well maintained. Enjoyed the lobby with inside and outside seating. It was a busy weekend, and there was a dog crying on our floor for quite sometime and I had to alert the desk. Surprised that housekeeping or security did not act sooner. Breakfast and lunch at Toro was excellent!

Denver Ritz 2.0 (OG should probably step-aside)
Pros:

The Clio is a better example of the "Luxury Collection".

Ever feel like Marriot (and Hilton) have so many "brands" that you have a hard time getting any sort of idea what the thru-line is? The Clio is a good version of "the Luxury Collection". Personally...I'd swap the Denver Ritz with the Clio (very underwhelming Ritz). Only downside of the Clio is the "Mountain View" is....about the same as a suburban home having a "mountain view".

Check in has always been very accomodating, if a bit long winded. Yes, I've stayed in a hotel before...actually you know what now that I wrote that I take it back. Check-in staff has consistently explained hotel ammenities every time and I can appreciate that. Ever stayed somewhere and found out on accident that there was a pool? (you won't have that issue at the Clio on account of no pool being present but I digress). So yeah I appreciate that they explain what is on property and how to access.

The hotel restaurant "Toro" is genuinely good enough to stand on it's own. Both Dinner and Breakfast have been fantastic every time. Cherry Creek has plenty of good restaurants but you wouldn't be taking the easy option by dining at Toro.

Rooms have always been impeccably clean. Maybe a bit bland but not leaning too heavily on the spartan aesthetic where you pretend to enjoy a stripped down room with a white wall and a single coat peg as being "cutting edge". Linens have always been crisp and clean. Mattress is a touch too firm for my liking. Showers are quite pleasant...and like 99% of the population...I have no idea about the bath tub because who uses a hotel bath tub?

Overall....I would reccomend the Clio as superior to the Ritz (although the Denver Ritz....is probably ready to adventure out into a new brand). Service is far better than average. Toro is a stand-out all by itself. Rooms are bland...but clean and well maintained. Views are "meh".

Outstanding hospitilaty
Pros:

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Clio last weekend for my birthday. Braxton, who works at the front desk, was so kind and thoughtful and, later on, he surprised us by putting together a birthday gift basket that was awaiting us in our room upon our return from dinner. It was filled with Colorado beers and other Colorado made food products. Such a special touch!

Thanks Braxton!

Room experience
Pros:

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and had a good experience. Not this time. First off the hotel has restricted the room air conditioning. The room thermostat looks like it’s trying to cool the room but it’s restricted. I had my room temperature never go below 74.

I told the front desk and no change. I selected 66. Still no change! What a miserable nights sleep I got!!!

Then on top of this one of the main Lobby elevators was out of service for two days. One time it took me 8 minutes to have the elevator come to the 11th floor. Over all not even close to a luxury experience!! Avoid. This hotel is loosing its reputation!!!

I really enjoyed staying here
Pros:

The restaurant and the bed one suggestion for those people like me that need distilled water for my CPAP machine. You can make a ton of money selling distilled water.

This is the place
Pros:

What a fantastic hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Clio and wish it had been more than just 1 night. As soon as you walk in, your senses are treated to the stunning design, the buzzing sounds of the lobby and restaurant scene and the incredible signature scent in the hotel.
The team was lovely - Braxton at the front desk was engaging and welcoming. The room was very spacious, with an awesome view of the mountains, and an oversized bathroom, and the bed was beyond comfortable.
I’m so looking forward to returning to Hotel Clio!

Lysianna was the Best
Pros:

From Start to Finish Lysianna’s made this experience amazing. She helped walk us through everything the hotel and surrounding area had to offer. She was kind enough to draw us a hand written card wishing us a happy stay and good luck on our real estate deals.

She made my experience 10x better than it would have been without her.

Lysianna Rocks!
Pros:

Lysianna went above and beyond like no other. Visiting Denver for the first time she was very accommodating and polite. Sending complementary gifts up to our room, with handwritten note. This is what customer service is all about. You don’t find this anymore, she went above and beyond and made our stay superior! Thank you so much Lysianna.
