The food menus was disgusting, when we received it it was even worse. For this hotel to get a better score or even us to stay there again it would have to improve dramatically as far food and amenities. That has certainly dropped the scoring of this hotel !!!
I loved all of it. I needed somewhere I could relax and take time out and this place exceeded all my expectations. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them.
All in all a lovely place to relax. I decided to go for 6 nights and I am glad I did because there is such a lot there. I loved the various seating areas, where you can spend time on your own or with friends

We have been here many times and everything about this hotel is very good. All the rooms are different. We've never been disappointed, always clean and we really nice , we like being able to get fresh milk from the machine and ice cold water, that's a real good touch..
The breakfast is lovely and there is a great selection, hot or cold..
The main meals can be a bit expensive .
The staff we encountered made the stay such a pleasure
The food was good in the restaurant apart from the thin over salted peppercorn sauce and why are they still serving food on wooden choppingboards so outdated and not hygienic
The restaurant food was good, but a little thought could have made it excellent, it was a bit “pub grub” style and not freshly made stuff, which was a pity as I’m sure the staff were up to providing that bit more, given the opportunity.

Room was spacious, spa was incredible
Had a spa and afternoon tea booked and was left for an hour in the restaurant ignored whilst 4 members of staff stood chatting. I asked at 30 minutes if I could have a cup of tea and then another 30 minutes passed before food was bought out. I am still awaiting a call back to discuss with someone and it has been two weeks. Very disappointing customer service.

The location always convenient and served its purpose but doubt will stay again! After 20yrs of staying at least 1-2 a year the service is appauling , no loyalty and fog you off every time with those awful ground floor rooms with tatty wood furnishings , AC never works, can't open windows, depresssing rooms definitely need refurbishment
As usual I arrive after I had booked months ago and I get given a dark old room down the back on ground floor and it was a heatwave ! No Ac it was broken , plus unable to open the French doors as opened onto parked cars! I refused to stay in there. Why not change those useless doors to windows ! Plus refurbish the room it's been the same for 20yrs.
I will add that the young man I think called jack was very patient with me and found me a room on 2nd floor which had AC thou can't say it's really powerful enough plus room again had some random old tatty desk amongst an attempt to update the room!
Whoever designs the rooms need to go on a training course as no eye to detail or flair for hotel rooms.
