One night visit to the area, great foodie places and loved the forest walk. So much to do and see!

Very dimly lit room, no lift, expensive for whats provided.

Bed was comfortable

Cons:

The lighting in the room was terrible - 3 lamps and no overhead light. This is extremely poor for New Zealand.

Pros:

Clean and comfortable. Lovely with the open fire .

Cons:

No where to wash dishes. The cleaner washes them in the bathroom. The meals are over priced and not worth the money . furniture needs updating in the Hotel lounge .

Comfy Bed. Friendly Helpful Staff
Pros:

Great location and the staff were all lovely. The superking bed was comfortable .

Cons:

The rooms are very outdated and the cleanliness of the rooms was average

Pros:

The location.

Cons:

The room was a bit tired, with a cracked sink in the bathroom and broken blind. The garden room was located separately to the main hotel which we didnt realise. There was no lighting on the path from the main hotel to the accomodation which was poor at night and unsafe.

Great for a long weekend and would go again.
Pros:

Was convenient and loved the old worldliness of it. A bit of history. And it was warm. The corridors were warm and welcoming as were the rooms.

Cons:

Our room was above the kitchen and we got food smells on the Sunday morning drifting up to the room. Not a major problem

Excellent comfortable stay and very good value
Pros:

Good room size, warm in winter, heater electric blanket. Large bathroom with heater, plenty of hot water, excellent water pressure. Fluffy large towels. Very quiet pretty outlook

Cons:

Better lighting in bedroom.

Peaceful and quiet
Pros:

We stayed in a greenhouse unit. It was comfortable and warm. We liked that it was away from other units.

Cons:

We paid extra for breakfast which was a buffet style and continental. There were only 4 hot items. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and sausages. This was very disappointing. The eggs and bacon were dry and the sausages were tasteless. The hash browns were nice as they had just been cooked when we arrived. They had warm pastries which were delicious.
We did not try the continental breakfast.

Pros:

The staff were freindly and helpful,the dining facilities are lovely greay food good price

Cons:

The lighting outside the building is very bright ,i would suggest that the hotel invest in blackout curtains for the rooms as normal curtains do no block the light from the very bright halogen lights just outside the rooms

Supercomputer beds, great location. Very nice breakfast

Cons:

Lighting in roo.s not great for makeup - was heading to a wedding. Appreciate that probably not a normal concern in this location

Great central location, walking distance to hot springs and facilities. Large grounds and peaceful setting.
