Convenient location!
Nothing
Save your money and stay somewhere else.
My fiancé and I booked this hotel for a romantic getaway from July 12 to July 13 and it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of our trip.
The experience started off badly before we even got our room key. I had already booked and paid through Booking.com, yet instead of simply checking us in, I had to stand there scanning a QR code and complete the entire check-in process on my own phone. What’s the point of having front desk staff if guests have to do their job themselves?
Then came another surprise: a $100 security deposit that wasn’t made clear beforehand. Even worse, although we checked out on July 13, it took 10 days for the money to be released back to my credit card.
We paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi tub but the second we walked into the room on the 3rd floor (corner room) we were hit by a strong musty, mold-like smell around the bed. It was impossible to ignore. The room also looked nothing like the photos online. The pictures make it look modern and inviting. Reality was old, worn out and poorly maintained.
The air conditioner on the balcony constantly leaked water, making it unpleasant to even sit outside.
When we called the front desk, an employee came to the room and claimed he couldn’t smell anything. His solution? Spray some lemon cleaner. Unsurprisingly, “covering up the smell” didn’t solve the problem.
After calling again, they finally offered another room, except there wasn’t another room available in the category we had actually paid for, so they let us choose between three rooms (one on the 1st, one on the 2nd and one on the 3rd floor).
So we ended up in Room 206, which was supposed to be the “better” option.
Unfortunately, it was hardly an improvement.
The balcony door didn’t even open, so the balcony was useless. There were obvious water stains and damage on the ceilings that looked like the result of previous leaks. The bathroom mirror was disgusting, with deteriorating edges, dark discoloration and old caulking that looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. The sink drain was heavily corroded and looked filthy. The entire room felt tired, neglected and far overdue for a proper renovation.
The hotel advertises renovated rooms. If that’s true, I’d hate to see what they looked like before.
To make things even stranger, the fireplace was burning… in the middle of July. We couldn’t even turn it completely off ourselves.
Even the elevator looked like it had been forgotten for years. It was scratched up, worn down and fit perfectly with the overall lack of maintenance throughout the property.
The biggest frustration is that we paid more for a premium room with a jacuzzi, only to be forced into a completely different room because the one we booked smelled so bad it was uninhabitable. We paid for a premium experience and received something that felt below average at best.
This was supposed to be a romantic getaway for my fiancé and me. Instead, we spent our evening changing rooms, dealing with maintenance issues, and wondering how this hotel has the ratings it does.
The only positive thing about this hotel is its location. Everything else was disappointing.
I would never stay here again, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, or romantic place to stay.
