Cons:

federe sporche scoperte la sera quando sono arrivata - personale alcuni molto cortesi altri per niente - scoprire che c’era una cauzione da pagare del 50% di cui nè la descrizione su Booking nè la conferma della prenotazione menziona - sentirmi dire che il deposito cauzionale era una richiesta della mia banca … risulta poco credibile

Pros:

Location was great; room was wonderful. We were over the entrance which lent to a nice view and it wasn’t as loud as it could’ve been.

Cons:

Some of the staff were not fabulous. They were fine, no real complaints. Just a little aloof maybe? But the baggage and parking guys were really nice and friendly.

The hotel is located in a beautiful historic armory located in a great location.
Pros:

Location, the historic nature of the building, beautiful interior

Cons:

The beds were way too soft. We didn't like how you had to valet your car and couldn't park it yourself.

Wonderful first visit to Portland, Maine
Pros:

The location is excellent. It is a beautiful hotel. I chose a room with a balcony and it was lovely. Beware you are close to your neighbors on the balcony. Everything was clean and working. The bed, bedding, showers, lotions, potions were top notch. There was a few mornings when I heard doors shutting which was a little annoying. All staff were excellent. Shuttle was fantastic. I recommend for a nice stay in Portland, Maine.

Faciliteiten: je komt an vaak tegen de avond check in ook pas vanaf 16:00 en dan sluiten de faciliteiten waar je voor betaald nota bene om 18:00! Erg raar zeker als je overdag juist de stad bezoekt. Een soort facaliteit waar je dus niks aan hebt

Great location but weathered and disappointing stay
Pros:

Fantastic location; weathered hotel that needs an update, especially in the rooms.
Smelly sock smell to the carpet.
Very loud heating and AC unit in room.
Friendly but loud housekeeping staff in hallways.
Wonderful bellman.
Great to have free coffee in nice lobby room.

Lovely stay in the middle of the action in Portland
Pros:

Location and service cannot be beat. This was in the middle of everything and everyone from the front desk, to the valet parkers to the maids were unfailingly helpful and nice. The bed was very comfortable and high quality as were the Moulton Brown bath products. Towels were fluffy and we appreciated the small touches like the bathrobe and magnifying makeup mirror. Room was extremely clean. Have to say again that I don't think there's a hotel in a better location to take advantage of Portland's charms. Downsides are that the hotel looks a little tired and the walls are somewhat thin.

Great experience!
Pros:

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the regency. Friendly staff, clean hotel, & loved the spa! One of our mornings we spent at the spa getting massages and then used the sauna, steam room, & hot tub which are available to all guests of the hotel. Great location as well to walk to all our meals. We will be back!

Beautiful, historic hotel
Pros:

Perfectly located beautiful, historic hotel. Bed and pillows are super comfortable. Plenty of choices for food and drink onsite. It was rainy and the hotel provided umbrellas for us to use for the day. Highly recommend!

Pros:

I chose this hotel to celebrate my best friend getting married. Not a party or anything, but a little girls night. I asked them for help to make it more special (I got someone to decorate the room) and the front desk staff were incredibly unhelpful and rude about all of these interactions. It felt like I was inconveniencing them, and it sort of ruined the beginning of our girls weekend. I would choose another hotel next time. Plus, it’s kind of dated looking and the spa is very tiny anyway!

Best impromptu stop we’ve ever had
Pros:

My sister and I were coming home from a trip in northern Maine. I did a Google search on best places to stay in Portland and Portland Regency hotelcame up in the search. We weren’t disappointed. Very well kept property. The valet was personable. The front desk was nice and the bartender was awesome. We will recommend and back if we are ever in Portland again.

Might Improve With More Staff
Pros:

The location is excellent! For Portland, the cost was decent. The room was nicely laid out, between elegant and cozy. It was quite quiet at night. The housekeeping was less than adequate. We had to request towels and toilet paper. At one point, someone left dishes in the hall (I'm surmising because they were never picked up). Our trash was never emptied. We requested a room clean--it didn't happen.
