The stay was okay.
Pros:

We like the location. The staff is helpful.

Cons:

The property is old, so the facilities are old. The garage is not on site. We stayed there for 4 nights. We checked in on Wednesday night, the room was a room with a king bed, not very big. The fridge is in a closet. When we opened the closet, the noise from the fridge was loud. Good that we could close the door to keep the noise in there. We found that the plastic knob of the water faucet in the shower was broken, so we could not adjust the water temperature. We informed the front desk clerk on Thursday morning. But when we got back to the room at night, no fix was done. We had to take a very hot shower for two days! Finally, we got a room change on Saturday morning (a day before we checked out). We got upgraded to a bigger room - a guest room with an extra bedroom. There were one king bed and one queen bed in the guest room. But there was no luggage rack. We had to place our suitcases on the floor. And the safe was locked, so we could not use the safe in the room.

the hotel has lots of character.
Pros:

the reception desk person, Jane did a wonderful job of answering all my questions and then some. Jane was great!

Cons:

the hot chocolate machine in the lobby didn't work. an explanation of how the parking garage worked would have been helpful before we arrived.

Pros:

Don't judge the book by the cover. Außenfasade ist nicht gerade ansprechend aber im inneren wird man dann sehr überrascht. Sehr sauber und gepflegt. Unser Zimmer war groß und wunderschön. Die Bettwäsche und Ausstattung vom Zimmer mit Liebe hergerichtet.Fenster könnten geöffnet werden und hatten sogar Fliegenschutz. Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank. Dusche und WC seperat.

Cons:

Außenfassade nicht so ansprechend.

Holiday La Montréal
Pros:

Great location. The 2 younger reception staff were lovely and helpful, good English. The 2 older staff didn't seem interested at all especially the lady.
The coffee for $1 was great!

Cons:

30 sec delay on ground floor lift was really annoying.
Lack of English from older staff and knowledge of where an atm was so we could get cash out.
When people check in, they should be told there is a laundry service, a pool table, ice machine. We had to figure this out. Our room had a mouldy smell even with the windows open.
In saying this, we would stay with you again 🙂

Parfait pour un court séjour.
Pros:

Bon séjour. L'endroit est très bien situé tout près du métro et de la rue commerciale St-Catherine qui mène au Quartier des spectacles. Il est facile de se stationner dans un stationnement intérieur à proximité (UQAM). Le matelas est confortable de même que les oreillers. Wifi rapide. Personnel courtois.

Cons:

Dans notre chambre, le décodeur pour la TV n'affichait pas les postes (un dépliant expliquant son fonctionnement serait apprécié). L'ascenseur de l'hôtel est très lent à démarrer, aussi nous avons préféré prendre les escaliers.

Functional room, helpful staff, but unclean room
Pros:

We wanted to drop our bags off early before check in, around 1100, but we were allowed to go straight to our room as it was ready. The room was functional and had most things we needed. The bed was comfy. It did the job.

Cons:

There was a mesh ‘catcher’ in our bathroom sink that had bits of unidentified substance (from previous guests I suppose) which was pretty disgusting. Also a few things around the room (like a squashed fly and dirt on the bed clothes) that gave a distinctly grubby feeling to the place.
