Staff at the front desk was incredibly helpful. We knew going into the booking that we wouldn't have been able to check in as early as were getting into town, but staff was kind and helpful in holding all of our baggage so we didn't have to worry about it upon our return later that evening.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially when my husband had to get some cold medicine for me.
Got to breakfast and all the hot food were gone as well as the muffins. We and some people had to wait to have eggs, bacon, and potatoes. They need more staff to replenish the food regularly, especially for weekend traffic.
On a positive note, the location of the hotel is excellent, and the rooms themselves were clean with comfortable beds. The housekeeping staff clearly does a good job, but management is leaving the property severely understaffed and disorganized. I would hesitate to stay here again until they resolve their front-desk operations.
Disappointing experience due to poor staffing and lack of organization. I requested an early check-in for 2:00 PM and called twice before arrival to confirm. Two separate staff members assured me it would not be a problem. However, when I arrived, no rooms were clean or available. I had to wait until 3:25 PM—well past the standard 3:00 PM check-in time—before my room was finally ready. The lobby was filled with other frustrated guests experiencing the exact same delay.
Location, breakfast
Our room. Original room keys would not work after 3 different key attempts. We were put in an overflow room on first floor that look like the room was a staging room for all the extra furniture. Bathroom was not clean, sand in the tub and the sinks and tub backed up.
The air conditioning in the lobby and breakfast area was not working a was very warm; it was cooler outside. We’ve never had a poor experience with a Hampton but this has made us reconsider our choice for next time.
I will say the staff that assisted us was exemplary in how he handled the situation.
Sheets would not stay on the bed. The bathtub looked like it needed resurfacing. The sink smelled bad when water ran. The breakfast was as good as usual. However, the hotel is ready to make good for our next stay, which means a lot.
Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and everything was good. The hotel location was great--close to Old Town and close to the wineries we visited. It was also very quiet at the hotel, which we appreciated.
There was some confusion at check-in. I had requested a room with two queens and a check in time at 3:00. When I arrived at 3:00 I was told my room wasn't going to be ready until 4:00 because I had been upgraded to a suite and there was one suite before mine to be cleaned. Since I hadn't asked for an upgrade, I requested another room but then was told hotel was fully booked. My friend and I were resigned to waiting another hour, but then front desk person had an idea to give me my original requested room of 2 queens and give the suite to people who hadn't arrived yet. As I was only staying a night, an upgrade was not as important to me as being able to check into my room in a timely manner because we were attending a concert that evening and wanted to have time to rest and freshen up before the event. So maybe letting people know beforehand that they can get an upgrade but that may impact the check in time and give them a choice.
Breakfast was good
The pool was unusable. It was green
Breakfast was great. Staff was very helpful and friendly. It's where I will stay next time.
Water drained in the bathroom sink slow. The refrigerator made a weird noise here and there but no major issue.
Wonderful staff. We were attending a wedding at 4:30. I asked about an early check in and they made it happen. We are so grateful to get ready there!
The hotel is convenient to find, clean, comfortable beds, and a good breakfast.
I recommend this hotel.
Nothing
We were very disappointed with our stay. We had reserved a room with two queen beds, but upon arrival we were given a room with one queen bed and a sofa bed instead. We reached out to the hotel, but were told that all rooms were fully booked and they were unable to accommodate our reservation.
This was especially frustrating because we chose this hotel for its convenient location near the casino since we had tickets to a show for my brother-in-law’s birthday. We were also traveling with my mother-in-law, so the room setup was not comfortable or what we had planned for.
I understand that availability can change, but when a specific room type is reserved and confirmed, guests expect to receive the accommodations they booked. Unfortunately, this affected what was supposed to be a special weekend celebration.
The room was very clean and spacious. The location was close to where we wanted to spend time.
The staff were great - very helpful EXCEPT for the night staff. That person wanted to sleep. When we expressed the fact that the reception room was very warm (82 degrees) he told us that the person who could turn down the temp was not available and then he turned on the fireplace. We had to vacate that area and were disappointed because we wanted to play cards there. The breakfast was not good.
A more accommodating night manager and a better breakfast
The location is great. the room was nice and comfortable. This location was recently updated but I thought it odd everything was updated but the tub was not.
The breakfast was terrible. On 2 of the 3 days of my stay, they ran out of food well before the cut off time. when I inquired, the staff said 'sorry' but thats all were putting out. Breakfast is advertised as part of these amenities so not having it is not acceptable. Plus, I paid to for it. seems an accommodation should be offered.
The hotel was really good EXCEPT for a night employee who, when requested to lower the temperature, turned the fireplace on. We were so warm in the lobby area that we had to leave.
The night time employee was not accommodating and just wanted to take a nap.
