Cramped and damp
Pros:

The location was good and staff were courteous. The breakfast was delicious

Cons:

I reserved a room 4 months ahead and paid extra because of an event in the city. I got a damp basement room with the couch bed pulled out for my granddaughter so we all had to walk sideways to get around and sleep with our suitcases. The view was looking up to an employee parking lot. My only night in Edinburgh and that was my view. How far ahead of time do I need to get above ground?

Excellent location and comfortable stay
Pros:

Excellent location close to Edinburgh Waverley railway station and also close to city attractions. Staff was very friendly and supportive

Our room was on the ground floor adjacent to parking lot. Had o deal with outside noise
