Die Lage ist günstig für die Erkundung des östlichen Teils der Insel:
- ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Auto nach Furnas

Kein 4-Sterne-Niveau: Lautes Hotel, schwacher Service und mangelnde Sauberkeit
Cons:

Leider können wir dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen. Unserer Meinung nach entspricht es keinesfalls einem 4-Sterne-Standard.
Die Probleme begannen bereits beim Frühstück: Dieses wird erst ab 7:30 Uhr angeboten, sodass wir bei gebuchten Vormittagsaktivitäten kein Frühstück einnehmen konnten. Zudem waren gegen 9 Uhr viele Speisen bereits leer und wurden nur teilweise oder gar nicht mehr nachgefüllt.
Auch die Zimmer konnten uns nicht überzeugen. Sie sind extrem hellhörig – Gespräche aus den Nachbarzimmern, Geräusche vom Flur und selbst Toilettenspülungen sind deutlich zu hören. Erholung war dadurch kaum möglich. Der beworbene „teilweise Meerblick“ erwies sich ebenfalls als irreführend: Das Meer ist nur sichtbar, wenn man sich in die äußerste Ecke des Balkons setzt. Stattdessen blickt man auf die Straße und hört dauerhaft den lauten Verkehr. Es fuhr ein Touristenbus nach dem anderen an unserem Balkon vorbei, sodass man in den Abgasen saß und sich für den Moment dann auch nicht mehr unterhalten konnte.
Besonders enttäuschend war das Housekeeping. Das Badezimmer wurde während unseres Aufenthalts nicht gereinigt, und die Bettwäsche wurde nicht frisch gewechselt, sondern lediglich mit einem Frischespray eingesprüht (wir saßen auf dem Balkon und konnten das sehen). Zudem erfolgte die Zimmerreinigung erst am Nachmittag, obwohl wir bereits seit 6 Uhr morgens das Schild aufgehängt hatten.
Auch der Service an der Rezeption wirkte wenig professionell. Die Mitarbeitenden waren häufig mit ihren Handys beschäftigt, nahmen Gäste kaum wahr und grüßten nur widerwillig zurück.
Darüber hinaus verfügt das 4 Sterne Hotel über kein richtiges Restaurant, sondern lediglich über eine Bar, in der unter anderem Tiefkühlpizza angeboten wird. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt leider weder angenehm noch erholsam.

Gute Lage direkt am Hafen. Der Hafenparkplatz ist sehr nahe am Hotel und Kostenfrei zu nutzen. Jetzt im Mai hatten wir genügend freie Parkplätze zur Auswahl.

Cons:

Das Bad in unserem Zimmer mit Meerblich war für ein ****-Hotel nicht mehr Zeitgemäß ( Duschvorhang an Badewanne). Der Zimmerservice kam erst um 16:45 Uhr als wir von unserer Wanderung schon wieder im Zimmer uns erfrischen wollten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war dürftig und die Marmalade im Spender leer. Mehrere Gäste, darunter auch wir mussten uns daher Umentscheiden. Auch das Personal im Frühstücksraum machte einen lustlosen Eindruck und glänzte mit längerer Abwesenheit. Auf die Reklamation hin bezüglich der Marmelade wurde der Spender geöffnet, die Marmeladenflasche geschüttelt und wieder eingesetzt. Reichte gerade mal für 2 x drücken.
Im Vergleich zu unseren anderen 2 Hotels ( ***** und ****) war es mit grossem Abstand das schlechteste welches wir hatten.

Adequate rooms with balcony facing parking lot & yacht harbor. Feels like a sanatorium, unwelcoming atmosphere. Town is not worth wile, no decent restaurant except for nice local place called Jardim
