pleasantly surprised by how comforting it was!

we were very pleasantly surprised by our stay here. the building is gorgeous, and the staff were all so kind. the room smelled really nice, and it all felt so cozy and comfortable. it was a break I really needed from an exhausting, stressful trip. I walked in, and immediately felt the stress melting away. it was clean, and the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were fluffy, and not lumpy.
Ive gotten used to being disappointed in hotels, from unclean rooms, to old, faulty furniture, or uncomfortable beds, it's unfortunately just the norm now. As long as it's still functional, then I'm not going to waste my time complaining, and the hotels will get away with charging average prices for below average rooms. This Drury (specifically this location, other drurys have been disappointing too), was such a pleasant surprise. The staff was so kind and compassionate, and welcoming, and not awkward at all. I wish I had gotten everyone's names so I could thank them, but unfortunately my brain was fried after a very stressful trip and I didn't think to look. The hotel lobby is gorgeous, and the floors are practically sparkling. The elevators didn't sound like they were going to break at any moment (looking at you, Hampton) and the hallways weren't claustrophobic. The room smelled wonderfully cozy, and the beds were very comfortable. it honestly felt like the feeling when you get to your grandparents home after a long trip, that probably doesn't make much sense but that's the feeling I got. Safe, secure, cozy, comforted, and welcomed.
It was raining when we got there, so I didn't get to go swimming, but the pool looked gorgeous from above!
If we ever drive through Lafayette again, I will be sure to stay here once more!

Cons:

the rooms were a little old, and a little small, but none of that actually mattered. the oldness was nice in a way, like back when stuff was made out of real wood, not all fake

The staff was very friendly! Clean and comfy rooms. Safe location. Great Breakfast, met all needs and enjoyable. Great price.

Decor is outdated but the least important factor relative to above.

Decently clean,Good value, great location, excellent staff.
Pros:

The staff was amazing, the hotel is very beautiful inside. This hotel has so much potential it really just needs a good “airing out”. And a little cleaning.

Cons:

The stairs do smell a little musty and our room 414 had either mold or dirt stuck to the ceiling.
