It was beautiful and tranquil. The waterfront views keep us coming back!
Pros:

The location is exceptional and we upgraded to a waterfront view. The stunning views from the balcony on Lake Huron were fabulous. The balcony is large enough for 2 adults and we enjoyed our cocktails at sunset before venturing out to dinner. It's close to Shepler's Ferry and you can easily walk to the restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel staff was exceptional at check in and check out. So kind and friendly. The hotel rooms are showing their age and could use renovation. Our balcony screen door was completely broken and could barely open it.

Cons:

The rooms need some updating such as new carpet, paint, lighting and bathroom. The balcony screen door was 100% non-functioning and barely opened.

An old classic.
Pros:

The location was nice. The view from the room was great. The staff were all very nice. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

We were "upgraded" to the 4th floor. The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor. The facility is old. The screen door to the balcony fell off the track multiple times. The door to the bathroom was blocked from opening fully by a wall mounted tv. I am sure the staff does the best they can with what they have.

Pros:

Early breakfast hours and two hour window too short. VERY crowded

Cons:

Room was dusty. table dirty and screen to porch was ripped and did not slide well. porch was dirty. Beach underwhelming.

Worth the money
Pros:

I have a 22 mo old boy. The beach is just on the feet, he loves to play the sand and the water. The breakfast is good with nice people ( thanks for the front desk and house keepers)

Pros:

Great location. Easy walk to the ferry and right on the beach. Shopping and food also easy to walk to. Staff was so friendly.

Cons:

The bed was a bit too firm for us. Woke up pretty sore and stiff in our backs.

Great place to stay in Mackinaw
Pros:

Staff was very accommodating and pleasant, speedy check in. Hotel is located in great location by the Sheplers Ferry, right on the beach. Beach area was clean and they had chairs that you could use. Really enjoyed our stay.

The location was awesome, but a ground-floor room would be better for the beach.
Pros:

The location on the beach was the best. But the location of the hotel that was near shops and restaurants was also a huge surprise. We parked when we checked in, and walked everywhere. Not having to deal with parking because we were able to simply walk everywhere was awesome.

Cons:

Our room was pleasant enough, but there were a few things in it that seemed like they were overlooked. The light in the bathroom was either loose or dying because it didn't stop flickering. The fridge leaked onto the carpet - possibly because it was left open from previous guest...? Not sure, but it didn't seem to close correctly when we tried to close it.
