Departing guests may continue to use the spa facilities up until 12:00. If guests wish to continue to use the spa facilities after check-out, there is a charge of GBP 15 per person.

Please note that the children's swimming times are between 10:00 and 12:00 and 15:00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday, and between 10:00 and 12:00 and 15:00 and 18.00 Saturdays and Sundays.

Pros:

Lovely location but that’s about it, overpriced and in dire need of an overhaul.
Pros:

The property has a lot of character and is very attractive for the outside.

Cons:

It was very rundown and in desperate need of some investment. The spa facilities especially have seen better days - for example, none of the lockers in the female changing room are functional and you’re lucky if the door doesn’t fall off its hinges.
The food and drinks were very disappointing, we only had breakfast and that was poor enough quality that we daren’t stay for dinner. The cocktails were awful, made with the cheapest spirits despite the menu stating otherwise e.g. the old fashioned is supposed to be made with Woodford Reserve but instead was made with Jim Beam, but they charged you the same. The staff were generally quite unprofessional although not rude, just not very competent.

We had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again.
Pros:

Such a beautiful place, lovely buildings and amazing grounds and views.

Cons:

We lived the swimming pool but the water could have been a little warmer!

Beautiful location, very nice hotel
Pros:

Very comfortable bed, clean room with everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Stunning building and grounds. The 2 bedroom suite was a bit small, but still allowed our teenager to have her own private space which she enjoyed.

Cons:

Suite was quite all which was tricky whilst three of us were trying to get ready to go to a wedding.

Short & sweet stay, can recommend this venue.
Pros:

Enjoyed breakfast eggs but would have liked a few more hot breakfast options.
The staff were well presented and nice when dealing with customers.

Cons:

Lights leading down to overflow car park, so you can see where you're walking at night.

The staff

Cons:

Very noisy in the room, paper thin walls, can literally hear conversations from other rooms. Air conditioning was also noisy with annoying clicking sound. Cold water tap (mixer) was lukewarm warm, never cold.

Disappointing wouldn’t stay again , needs refurb and attention to outdoor areas !

Not a great start as friends all paid considerably less for the same room which included breakfast , we paid a lot more then had to pay for breakfast . The shower frame was worn and rusty , no water in the room , shower gels etc were empty , pathways leading to hotel rooms in state of disrepair and dangerous in the dark !!

Amazing stay in a beautiful location with wonderful food .
Pros:

Location was beautiful, accommodation wonderful food amazing, staff had great customer service, the restaurant service was fantastic , we had a lovely time celebrating my mother’s 86 birthday.

Needs investment and better management
Pros:

This is a lovely period property, and the newer elements have been designed sympathetically. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. The rural setting was great.

Cons:

The barman was very rude, accusing us of not paying for coffee when we had paid one of his colleagues. It really spoiled our wedding anniversary celebration to be accused of stealing. The waiters/waitresses were mostly sweet but very young and were not being well managed, so that for example our starter arrived before our drinks at dinner. The Tudor building is very atmospheric but it means the floorboards are creaky and thin, so it’s not completely quiet. We were v disappointed that there was not a jacuzzi: as other reviewers have noted, it’s just part of the swimming pool so the water is cold and not relaxing. The toilet in the changing rooms was broken and the showers were not clean. Most of the lockers were broken. Sadly, the hotel needs investment and better management.

Just the job.
Pros:

Great location, plenty of character and generally we enjoyed our stay.
