Spent a pleasant and vey hot week at the Sindbad Hotel

We were looking for a cheap-ish week getaway and Tunisia fit that bill

The hotel is located at the end of Hammamet bay so was the last drop off on the coach, about 50 mins from the airport

Few things to be mindful of:

Hotel
The hotel appears to be undergoing a huge maintenance upgrade with the Maintenance crew visible all day long repairing and upgrading all areas of the hotel. We had a few minor issues in the room but the maintenance team were quick to react and solve for us

Pool
The infinity pool that appears in a lot of the marketing for the hotel is located down at the beach. But the surround of the pool is set mainly for seating and eating so difficult to layback and relax. The bar area also gets very busy to hotel non-residents, particularly at the weekend. There is another larger pool area behind reception, less picturesque but great for relaxing, tanning & swimming/cooling off. Again this area is open to non residents so can be busy at weekends and in the afternoon after school. However the Life guard was fantastic and made sure the residents of the hotel were not inconvenienced in the pool (as much as possible). The indoor pool was closed (looked like for maintenance)

Beach
The images of the beach show plenty of space and a short walk to the sea. However this isn’t the case. On rough sea days there is only one row of parasols, 2 rows on a calm day, but the sea does lap up to the seats. Lots of beach furniture is stacked but unable to be used due to limited space. The beach does get busy with the locals, again at weekends and late afternoon. The beach attendants do ensure hotel guests get the parasols first, but looks like the beach fills up quickly with large groups. Popular, but over crowded

But in the positives:

Rooms
Rooms are large and well appointed. Good AC which is needed when the temperature hits 37*C thru the day

Staff
All the staff are polite and helpful, understanding they are speaking 3 or 4 languages for all the guests. In particular the team in the restaurant, we were looked after by Hafedh who catered for everything we needed as we helped our self to the buffet
The life guard around the pool was brilliant and reserved a space for us each day at the pool for a small gratuity (we offered, he didn’t ask). He was friendly and helpful, also interacting with the kids in the pool offering pool toys and swimming lessons
The housekeeping team were great and our room was cleaned to a high standard every day- Inc fresh flower petals on the bed daily

Food
We were half board so were presented morning and evening with a vast buffet. The breakfast buffet was full and more than you could ask for. While each evening the theme changed for the buffet and included a BBQ option cooked fresh in the grill outside

For a week away in the “scorching” sun the hotel was ideal. The surrounding area is pretty much on a busy main road so not much to do very locally, although there is a marina and plenty of other beach to visit along Hammamet bay

This place is awesome, not only because of the facilities, but because of the staff. All the guys serving you at breakfast and dinner are so fantastically serviceminded and genuinely kind it warms your heart and keeps you happy. They care for your needs without a glitch. No one named and no one forgotten. It’s just something else.The room cleaning lady is suuuper, and just everything works smoothly and with a professionalism and genuine kindness. I’m blown away. Perfect place to relax and be taken care of.

We had a really nice stay at the hotel. It is a large hotel with many well maintained pools and restaurants.
But the most stand out feature of the hotel is the staff. It is the friendliest and most helpful staff you will find and it is an absolute delight staying at the hotel because of them. I highly recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel, tasty food, super friendly and excellent staff - especially Hafedh and Bilel.

The security staff is amazing : specially Hedi. He helped us with the baby. They accommodated us with a beautiful room close to the pool.

Very good service from Hafedh in the Sheherazade buffet and in general all the waiters and cleaning ladies are lovely and maintain a very nice and clean atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Beach and pool are located just outside the rooms barley a 2 minute walk as well.

The staff was lovely throughout my whole stay here, always making sure I was alright and had everything I needed. Hafedh greeted us for breakfast and dinner everyday and always had nice conversations making our night more fun.

Best beach in town

We had an amazing experience dining at the Shahrazed Restaurant at The Sindbad Hotel. The food was outstanding every day, with a fantastic variety of fresh, delicious dishes that catered to everyone. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour, making every meal something to look forward to.

What really made our experience special was the exceptional service. A huge thank you to Hafedh and Bilel, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were friendly, attentive, professional, and always had a smile on their faces. Their hospitality truly made a difference and made our holiday even more enjoyable.

We highly recommend the Shahrazed Restaurant to anyone staying at The Sindbad Hotel. Great food, fantastic atmosphere, and outstanding staff. We can’t wait to come back!

The shahrazed restaurant was amazing especially hafedh and bilal, the service was impeccable would recommend. Great food too!
