Extremely tired and run down hotel. Very poor sound isolation between rooms. Bedding very poor. Bathroom large but very dated. Very difficult to regulate the temperature of the over bath shower, and the bath does not drain properly when the shower is in use. Very cheap shower gel.

Cons:

Everything was just ‘beyond its useful life’.
Strange to be in a hotel where the door does not lock unless you actively use the key. If going for breakfast you cannot simply close the door as you leave. You have to actively lock it.

Good location. Clean, and comfortable.

Cons:

No hot water. TV didn't work. Wifi didn't work. Complained, but to no avail. Expensive at the price. Very worn decor. No hot water was very poor though.

Una parada para relajarse
Pros:

Tiene piscina y zona de spa totalmente gratuitas. Aunque las instalaciones son un poco antiguas, funcionan bien y ofrecen un buen servicio. Viene bien si estás de paso, para relajarte durante el camino y reponer fuerzas para continuar. También hay un hall, bar y restaurante bastante agradables.

Cons:

El colchón era un poco incómodo para mi gusto.

A clean and practical hotel for a short stay, but overall needs a major refurb.
Pros:

The pool itself was good, but the changing room was cramped and lacked private changing cubicles. It was also rather tired and in poor condition and would benefit greatly from refurbishment.

Cons:

The hotel is tired-looking and slightly run-down. Some of the furniture was worn and stained, and the paint was peeling in places. That said, my room was clean and had everything I needed for a short overnight work stay.

For a weekend break in the Highlands, however, I would probably choose somewhere more modern. I hope an investor comes along and breathes new life into this grand old hotel - the potential is there for it to become a true jewel of the Highlands.

Excellent lieu pour rayonner aux alentours et commencer la journée par un petit dejeuner au top
Pros:

Le personnel pour le petit-déjeuner et le diner ( notamment le chef de rang, s'il se reconnaît merci!), le choix du buffet de petit-déjeuner, les serviettes pour la piscine, la salle de bain neuve

la chambre un peu moins moderne mais propre

Freundliche Mitarbeiter, zuvorkommend. Sehr gutes Frühstück, saubere Zimmer.

Cons:

Infrastruktur ist alt. Zugute halten muss man den Inhabern, dass das nötigste investiert wird und dass es vermutlich auch nicht einfach ist, in einer kurzen Hauptsaison das nötige Geld zu erwirtschaften.

Ben Nevis was fab - hotel extremely disappointing.
Pros:

The location for climbing Ben Nevis was very good, the bar food was reasonable.

Cons:

Hotel is very run down, shower is only hot intermittently and sometimes not at all, the water pressure was not sufficient to wash my long hair. The main restaurant was closed. Carpet in communal areas was threadbare, there was an unpleasant musty smell. This was for the same cost as a room in London!
