Very central location 2mins from bus train and ferry. The hotel is an old scottish house with creaky floors and brown wood. The bedroom was well appointed with a comfy bed and sea view on the 4th floor the bathroom was gleaming white with new facilities
The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. Self service breakfast with good choice in a large breakfast room. Enjoyed Oban very much.
Breakfast good.
Old cheap scabby furniture
Dirty stained worn carpets and flooring.
Badly positioned bathroom fittings.
Extractor fan not working.
Very clean!
A little dated.
Proximity to ferry & train. Great views of the downtown. Access to excellent walking & dining. Staff is exceptional.
It is dared & worn but charming in its way. Expensive tho…
Central location
Very tired
The location was good. The bed was clean and comfortable.
The Hotel is in need of upgrading. e.g Worn out carpets on stairs, chipped paint and wallpaper and that was the reception area! Not a good start. The bath enamel was chipped, the toilet pan moved while on it. The wooden shelf was soft and rotten. The whole room was in need of fresh decor. The window sash was broken . The window view was a flat roof and a wall opposite. No complaints about that but the roof could be cleaned up.
Our stay was only one night but I won't stay there again.
The food, both dinner in the bar and breakfast were excellent
The decor was a bit tired and in need of a refresh.
Zeer ruime kamer met uitzicht op de baai van Oban.
Binnen is het hotel zeer gedateerd en duidelijk aan een renovatie toe.
Perfect location. Good sized room with excellent view. On the whole, a more than adequate stay.
Bathroom small and shower not working.
The staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well placed, convenient fir train and ferry, restaurants etc.
All very dated. Room small and poor lighting.
Wifi didnt connect in room.
La ubicacion
Edificio antiguo, que le falta alguna actualizacion importante.
Las habitaciones correctas y limpias.
Booked this hotel for a solo four day break . The hotel is badly in need of a total refurbishment . The communal areas are very tired , worn carpets , torn wallpaper , chipped paintwork. My room was ok , clean and the bathroom had been upgraded at some point . Only one bedside lamp in a double room. The view from my window to the back of the hotel was not good , rotten windows , drainpipes and gutters rusty, leaking with weeds everywhere. Breakfast was barely eatable , the food in the hotplates was luke warm and not very palatable . The main dining room equally shoddy and run down. The bar was a depressing place , a relic of the 1980s with a stale smell
I would avoid this place at all costs . The only good thing I can say is the staff were all very friendly and were trying hard to please.
Friendly helpful reception, good breakfast, comfortable bed
It is an old hotel so decor and furnishings dated.Good for a one or two night stay if you are transferring somewhere or just need a base
The breakfast choices and coffee were great!
The hotel was a bit old but I loved staying there!
