Horrible hotel and the manager came in my room while I was naked and a do not disturb sign
Nothing
Mold was in my shower and bugs were in my room i have pictures to prove it
Great location near the airport, and the room was big and comfortable.
The pool was a great way to wind down in the evening and the bed was very comfortable
The description mentioned a bar, which was there, but a better picture would be appreciated. It wasn't the atmosphere i was expecting

We booked four rooms at this hotel for work colleagues attending meetings over a three-night stay. We understand that Hyatt Place is a select-service brand, but this property falls well below the basic standards one would expect from the brand.
The photos on the website appear to be significantly outdated. In reality, the hotel feels extremely dated, tired, musty, and in desperate need of renovation. Overall, the experience was more comparable to an economy hotel such as a Comfort Inn or La Quinta than a Hyatt-branded property.
Our experience started poorly upon arrival. We arrived in the early afternoon to find the front desk completely unattended, with a sign stating that someone would return shortly because they were driving the airport shuttle. A maintenance associate informed us it would be about 15 minutes before anyone returned to assist us with check-in. While I understand staffing challenges, leaving the front desk unmanned for that length of time is not an acceptable first impression.
The lobby itself is spacious but worn. The front desk was cluttered with papers and signs, including a prominently displayed notice outlining housekeeping policies. I understand the need to communicate service expectations, but the notice was taped to the counter, covered in handwritten edits and scribbles, and looked unprofessional. Small details like this have a significant impact on the guest experience.
The guest rooms were equally disappointing. They felt dated, the air conditioning units were exceptionally loud, and the rooms did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly, with noticeable dust throughout.
We had originally booked a three-night stay per room but ultimately checked out after the first night. There were simply too many issues with the overall atmosphere, cleanliness, and guest experience for us to justify staying any longer.
The morning after we went to the front desk to let them know we would be departing early, the same sign was up again saying the staff member was driving the shuttle bus, so we had to leave our keys in the express drop. We have been following up with the hotel ever since to discuss a potential refund, but the experience has been frustrating and unresolved.
If you’re simply looking for a place to sleep before an early flight or after a late arrival, this hotel may serve that purpose. However, if you’re staying for several nights or expecting the level of quality typically associated with Hyatt Place, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
It was very clean and comfortable .
It was too close to the airport and all night it sounded like a jet was about to land on the rooftop. It was very loud.
I arrived at 2:40 AM with a confirmed, guaranteed reservation after a canceled flight and a three-hour drive from Charlotte. The front desk sat unattended, with a "be back soon" sign, and I waited 30 minutes. When the clerk finally appeared, in a sweatshirt with an F-bomb printed across the front, she told me my room had been given away. Not overbooked, but given away. When I asked how that happens with a guaranteed reservation, she said it was my fault for arriving late, but that's the very reason why guaranteed rooms exist.
She then refused to do what Hyatt's relocation policy requires, which is to arrange and pay for a comparable room and transportation. She told me to book my own room and submit it for reimbursement, asked me to leave, and threatened to call the police after I insisted she follow Hyatt policy.
That's how this location treats elite World of Hyatt members: as trespassers, threatening to call the police on them, after giving away their reservations after refusing to follow Hyatt policy.
I called another nearby Hyatt for help. Russ, the night manager at Hyatt House Seaboard Station, was appalled (but not surprised, saying there have been issues at this location), arranged a proper relocation to a nearby hotel, and set up direct billing in one call. He did in just a few minutes what this location wouldn't raise a finger to do.
But it gets worse. When I returned the next day to discuss the situation with the general manager, my reservation had been changed without my authorization to a same-day booking, which washed the record look like I cancelled on my own, apparently so this property avoids any accountability. There is no general manager, only an interim who instructed staff not to share his contact info with guests. I left a written complaint and asked for a call. Over a week later, nothing.
I have been a loyal Hyatt customer for 20 years, but this property is making me question that decision.
The property's only redeeming quality is its closeness to RDU airport. But then again there was also a 1.2 million gallon raw sewage spill near RDU last month. Given the choice, I'd take the sewage spill.
Truly appalling. Avoid at all costs.
UPDATE JUNE 25, 2026 (one week later). I made Hyatt Consumer Affairs and executive staff aware of the situation. They said: " I would like to share that I have made multiple attempts over the past week to contact the hotel directly by sending several emails outlining your concerns; however, I have not yet received a response from the property." So not only is this property refusing to speak with me, they are refusing to speak with Hyatt corporate too.
Completely unacceptable bad faith misconduct by this property. If there was ever a property deserving of having its franchise agreement pulled, this one is it.
