The room was very clean and comfortable. Had a second floor room, which I preferred. The balcony was a plus.

My husband and I were scheduled to stay from April 13-18. We were excited, because we had never been to Virginia Beach. We had an ocean front view, had tons of activities planned, and were super excited. BTW, we are MVC owners and bonvoy titanium members.
Upon arriving, we noticed the area seemed sketchy. The elevators seemed dirty and had a weird smell. However, overall the hotel appeared clean and our room seemed clean. Our room view was amazing, BUT the windows were filthy, dirty, and cloudy with guck on them. On one side you couldn't even see the beach clearly because of the dirty windows. Also, the balcony door had hundreds of little black bugs on it, so we didn't open the door. What's the point of having an ocean view, but can't enjoy seeing the ocean?
We enjoyed walking on the beach it was lovely. However, I noticed the area seemed deserted. Then watching the news later that day, I heard there had been eight people shot a few days before our arrival two hotels down. A 9pm curfew was announced on TV, so with the dirty windows, bugs, curfew, and sketchy area, we decided to cancel our remaining days, and return to our previous vacation spot.
My husband cancelled our remaining days within the 24-hour required timeframe with the hotel. He was told 107K points would be refunded. Then he immediately called Bonvoy to confirm our cancellation and returned points, and was told Bonvoy sent a confirmation certificate to the hotel front desk to return our Bonvoy points. We were told they should post that day. My husband then called the front desk to confirm they received the certificate and the points would be posted. They said we should see points shortly.
It has now been over 22 days; my husband has talked to a minimum of 6 different people at the hotel and Bonvoy since April 14. Each call and person promise that our points will be returned. Nada-zero, no points have been posted!
For all the reasons above we won't be returning to this hotel.
