Good
Nothing
We reached the hotel around Midnight.
But the staff was still very understanding and friendly.
I am sorry...I do not remember his name, but he was from Bangladesh.
And I appreciated his attitude towards us.
I did not have to pay for parking either, which was great as well.
As a traveler who has stayed in over 100 hotels across more than 50 countries — from budget hostels in Pakistan to 5-star resorts in the Maldives — I rarely leave negative reviews. Unfortunately, my experience at Metro Hotel Perth City was extremely disappointing.
I understand this is a budget hotel and I do not expect luxury. However, basic hygiene and cleanliness should never be optional.
The negatives:
The bed sheets were dirty with brown stains that looked like chocolate — or possibly something worse. The carpet was full of dust, food wrappers, and chips. Moving the bed was honestly disgusting. The TV screen was sticky and visibly dirty. The glass shelves in the bathroom were loose and unstable to the point where I was afraid they would fall off the wall if I placed anything on them.
After requesting a new duvet because of the disgusting stains, I was offered a different room instead. Unfortunately, the new room was not any better. As soon as I pulled back the blanket, I found a bug. Then I picked up the phone handset and found another one. During my 3-day stay, I killed six bugs/cockroaches in the room.
The lights flickered for around 10 seconds before turning on properly, and the bathroom light made a loud noise that sounded like an airplane taking off. I genuinely did not feel comfortable even walking around the room in socks because everything felt filthy.
After asking for housekeeping, the only things done were making the bed and changing the towels. The bathroom sink was actually dirtier after the “cleaning” than before.
For three nights, there were homeless individuals standing outside the hotel and in the lobby who were drunk and behaving aggressively, which made me feel unsafe and forced me to enter through the garage instead of the main entrance. In the lobby, there were also “hotel guests” who appeared dirty and behaved in a very disturbing manner toward other guests, making inappropriate comments and openly touching themselves inappropriately. This created an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere and significantly affected my overall experience.
The only positives are the price, the location, and the free parking.
I normally do not complain about budget accommodation, but this was one of the dirtiest hotel experiences I have had in years
