Amazing heritage
The valet parking.
Very handy, and polite and professional.
But daylight robbery.
The property was beautiful
Came in from SA for 1 night. Appreciated the 2 hour early arrival accommodation. Even though the "valet parking" was a little pricey, it was very convenient. One suggestion, and this is not a deal breaker, is to keep the designated handicapped spot just that. Your valet attendant left our car in a convenient spot so we were never put out. However , this may affect someone else in the future. The food was delicious for breakfast - the pool was refreshing.
Gorgeous property, well maintained, room was spacious and beds were extremely comfortable. I appreciated the wonderful pillows and linens used on the beds.
That there was only a valet option to park.
Austii and Cristain made us feel at home and relaxed as soon as we arrived and throughout our entire stay. They were friendly, had great stories about the hotel, very attentive, and provided excellent customer service as soon as we arrived. We've stayed at other beautiful hotels in ATX but when you combine the unique boutique resort aesthetics of this hotel and the phenomenal customer service here, there is no reason to book anywhere else than Hotel Ella!
Every single member of the staff bent over backward to accommodate my family. Astii was a particular stand-out, even helping my son figure how to make some ramen when he was "starving" in the middle of the day - a gesture that meant a lot, making everybody feel at home.
My wife and I recently visited this historic location smack-dab in the middle of Austin. The story goes; my wife and I wanted to at least once stay at an up-scale hotel in the city with a down home feel, private and discreet, yet accessible to many main features of Austin within a quarter hour.
The compliment of the people I met there truly made it a wonderful experience for my wife and I. The bar and restaurant are very attentive, and there was most excellent interactions with staff from the valet (which I do suggest) to our receptionist, and even the hotel manager, everyone was so helpful and made us family. Also I found a new beer for my top 5 list..a local brewery to Austin with a fantastic creation called Fire Eagle. My wife had a most flavorful drink from the cocktail list; and we both shared a delicious appetizer of fire oven baked bread and scrumptious fluffed ricotta with tasty spices. Our main entree was salmon and the cauliflower puree...light yet filling and the salmon was close to perfect.
The room was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for all my stuff during business travel. A great pool area to unwind with a drink after work. And Christian at the bar was a very hospitable and fun to have a conversation with.
My spouse and i had a great time staying at the Ella! We arrived pretty late our first night and Eboney was super friendly and welcoming, she really set the atmosphere for us! The front desk was also very helpful and accommodating when we wanted to stay an extra night. on our last morning we ordered room service, the food was pretty average, but Alejandra was so nice nice when she dropped off letting us know the espresso machine was broken but subed my cappuccino for a cafe au lait which was exactly what i would have asked for! during check out Aujtii was also very friendly and even asked how our breakfast was. over all we had a great experience and will be staying there whenever in austin!
Everyone was so hospitable! They even found a room for me when I mistakenly only booked one. Tragedy averted!
What a great place!! The location is perfect. Close to everything but just far enough away for some good relaxation. Raven and Austii treated me like gold. The best weekend end getaway, did some work, relaxed by the pool and had a great breakfast on the porch each morning.
Hotel Ella is so beautiful. The landscaping and decor is amazing. I was in Austin for business but, the hotel ambience is stunning and truly made it feel like a getaway.
The valet Alex!! He was so helpful and knowledgeable. You all made an excellent choice in staff bringing that young man aboard. I can’t say enough good things about him!
Loved our stay! Christian the manager was incredibly accommodating and made us feel so welcome from the start. Austii and Raven at the front desk were also friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service.
The hotel has the perfect eclectic Austin vibe, is in a great location close to everything, and the bar was a fun place to meet great people. Best of all, the room was quiet and the bed and pillows were amazing! We will definitely be back.
We were booked in advance to stay on the 3rd floor in the historic part of the hotel; when we arrived, we were informed that the elevator did not work; they placed us on the 2nd floor of the annex (also had stairs to get to the room)
I had confirmed earlier that there was an elevator to our booked room.
We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening; there were only 3 tables occupied. It took over an hour to get our salad and then the food came immediately which was at best "average"
Their wine menu advertised wine that no one could find.
Beware of extra expenses with parking.
The staff were very nice and the historic house is gorgeous, but I will never stay there again.
Caroline, the greeter at Hotel Ella is an absolute doll. She is kind, helpful, and extremly patient. She also has a beautiful, warm smile. Kudos Hotel Ella, you've got a gem on your hands!!
Raven, Austin, & Caroline were amazing! They were all super kind and helpful. Never made us feel like a bother and helped us with anything & everything🩷
Wonderful experience! Arrived late with delayed flight and valet went inside and got me a cold flask of water for my bedside. Everyone was very friendly and room was large and air conditioning worked great. Very pretty grounds and perfect location. Such a cute place to stay in Austin!
Cleanliness and historic details.
Not comfortable poolside chairs at all. I actually hurt myself on one that collapsed.
Oh my goodness! I don’t have enough words to express how much we loved our stay at Hotel Ella. We were in town for a wedding and picked this hotel for price and location. We were not disappointed! The Q/Q room was large enough for three women and our extensive luggage, the beds were comfortable and the room clean. My only room complaint was the bathroom mirror which was a bit like a funhouse and not very practical.
The staff were incredible too! The bell staff were quick with our luggage. The first night we needed extra hangers, ice and towels. Austii and the gentleman at the front desk brought them and told us some of the hotel history.
The next morning, we ordered room service. The lady that helped us was so accommodating of my sister’s many food allergies. They helped us figure out exactly what she could eat. The presentation was beautiful. She told us it was her second day - she’s a keeper!
The next morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast. Again, the food was great! Lemon poppy pancakes!! Kelly, our server, was fabulous.
The property is beautiful and conveniently located near the UT campus, art museums and the capitol as well as so many other downtown attractions. We easily Ubered everywhere we went and could have scootered if desired.
I will definitely be back if I find myself in Austin again. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
