Hôtel des Coutellier

The hotel is located close to the main points of interest in Old Quebec. The room is beautiful, comfortable, and has everything you need and more.

This was advertised as a 5 star hotel. It is not even a 4 star hotel! Twin full beds where the feet of a 6ft man extend over the end. No service except to collect fees. No one on duty after 10 pm! The hotel was clean but it simply was a modest inn. False advertising comes to mind. Never again.

Location was perfect for my event as was the atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable as was the hotel as a whole.

The location was perfect! Walkable to old town and train station, yet much quieter then staying in the center. Staff was welcoming, a delicious breakfast served at your door each morning and the bed was comfy. The robe they supplied was so phenomenal I went back after check out to buy one to bring home. We will be back!

This is the best hotel ever! Friendly and engaging staff, perfect location for not having a car -1 block to the hop on hop off tour bus, bed and linens were amazing, robes and umbrellas in the room and the best part is the excellent breakfast brought to your door every morning! This is a genius idea that fosters relaxing and slowing down. Espresso machine in the room but also regular coffee in the lobby. Jean Sebastian and Justin made us feel at home and greeted us by name every time we came thru the lobby. Overall 10/10 Kudos to you and your team Jean Sebastian!!!

We stayed here 3 nights at the end of a bike tour. Jean Sebastien at the front desk was helpful, friendly and efficient getting our bikes put away and answering our questions. The hotel is close to the Quebec port and a few blocks from Rue St Jean, one of the main tourist areas with restaurants and shops. We will stay here again on our next trip

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens). This was our first time in Quebec. Hotel des Coutellier was a great choice for our family. It was within walking distance from the train station and not too far from the airport. It's located just right outside the walls so it's less crowded but still close enough to get to the Old Town. The farthest we walked was to the Citadel and that was about 30 min. There's a gas station across the street that had basic items one might need. The hotel itself seems small but the rooms were spacious. The room was modern looking, clean, and looked updated. There was plenty of storage for our clothes. The full-size beds were comfortable. The bathroom, while small was still a good size. They provided L'Occitane products and the bath towels were nice and soft. They have a Nespresso in the room for use. Every morning our continental breakfast was delivered by lunch bags hung on a hook outside our room. It consisted of two pastries (always croissants and another type of pastry), butter/jam, juice, and another item such as yogurt or applesauce. Every staff person we encountered have been welcoming and friendly. If we ever make it back to Quebec I would definitely stay here again!

A charming, picturesque hotel in a prime location

This hotel is located in a great spot right near the old city and the Gare de Palais Bus/train station (6 min walk). The room was clean and spacious. They have a cute breakfast bag packed outside your door when you wake up. And the staff we very helpful and nice.

Unfortunately the TV in my room was broken and so ce we retuylate after dinner no one was at the front desk to help. Also the water pressure in the shower is very light. And I wish they would have offey2 bottles of water for free vs 1 free and 1 to buy. It would be nice to have to go cups for the coffee in the room too.

Overall, it was ok but pricey for what you get.

This small hotel offers a premium experience, just outside the old town. The rooms have been updated and are larger than most. As it is a very old building, so it’s not surprising that the floor is a bit irregular. The clean quiet rooms offer all the amenities, except for a kettle, that’s available from the front desk. There is a coffee machine in the room. The bed is unusually comfortable. The small bathroom has a tub. Breakfast is delivered to your door daily, and consists of orange juice, croissants, rolls and cheese or yogurt. Tea and fruit are available at the front desk all day. The hotel is near several Michelin restaurants and a Esso fast stop.

We stayed three nights and only have good things to say. The hotel was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The bedding and soaps were lovely. We enjoyed breakfast in our room and loved the complimentary apples and beverages in the lobby.

The property was beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious! The location is perfect for sightseeing and the staff was kind and helpful.
